Reader's Choice - Glam Polish Fruit Of The Poisonous Tree

Idag blir det till att fira sonen som fyllde 18 år igår och hans kusin som fyller 20 år idag. Men självklart blir det också ett Läsarnas Val inlägg.

Och jösses vilket lack ni valt till mig! Det här är Glam Polish Fruit Of The Poisonous Tree ett lack som jag beställde samtidigt som Wicked som jag visade i måndags. I december 2014....

Som vanligt när det är ett Glam Polish lack så är det en fröjd att lacka med. Jag har två lager och topplack på bilderna.

Fruit Of The Poisonous Tree är ett ganska mörkt lila lack med röda toner och holo. Det kommer från en kollektion med inspiration från tv-serien Once Upon A Time som jag gillar riktigt mycket. Och det kan man lugnt säga att jag gör om lacket också. För det här är riktigt snyggt. Faktiskt ett av de snyggaste jag burit på länge. Och då har jag haft en hel del snyggingar på naglarna på sista tiden.

Självklart blir det en ny omröstning också. Så passa på att påverka vilket lack som ska visas vid nästa Läsarnas val.

Today, we will celebrate our son's 18th birthday that was yesterday and his cousin, who turns 20 today. But of course there will also be a Readers' Choice posts.

And gee what a polish you have chosen for me! This is Glam Polish Fruit Of The Poisonous Tree a polish that I ordered the same time as I bought Wicked as I showed last Monday. That was in December 2014 ....

As usual when it's a Glam Polish it's a delight to paint with. I have two coats and top coat in the pictures.

Fruit of the Poisonous Tree is a pretty dark purple polish with red tones and holo. It comes from a collection inspired by the TV series Once Upon A Time which I like really much. And one can safely say that I do that with the polish too. Because this is really neat. Actually one of the nicest I've worn for a long time. And I've  had a lot of good looking polishes on the nails lately.

Review Born Pretty Store Holographic Nail Foil

Nail foil finns i alla möjliga varianter och är ganska trevligt sätt att piffa upp naglarna, men faktiskt lite knepigt.

Den här kommer från Born Pretty Store och är i form av holografiska löv. Riktigt fin tycker jag.

Enligt BPS så ska man kunna applicera den här direkt på ett nästan torkat nagellack, men det funkar så där tycker jag. Jag har använt mig av ett speciellt lim som ska göra att folien fastnar på nageln.

Ändå var det lite bråkigt för det visade sig att man var tvungen att hålla reda på rätt sida på folien för att få den att lossna. Därav en något skrynklig långfingernagel, det gick inte riktigt som jag tänkt mig.

Men jag måste säga att jag gillar slutresultatet riktigt mycket. Jag la löven över Pronails Folksy Frock och jag gillar kombon.

Nail foil comes in all varieties and are a pretty nice way to spice up your nails, but actually a little tricky.

This one comes from Born Pretty Store and is in the form of holographic leaves. Really nice I think.

According to BPS you should be able to apply this directly on a nearly dry nail polish, but I don't get that to work very well. I am using a special glue to make the film stick to the nail instead.

Even so it was a bit hard to get it to work smooth. It turned out that you had to keep track of the right side of the foil to get it to come off. Hence a slightly wrinkled middle finger nail, it didn't go quite as I had imagined.

But I must say that I like the end result really much. I put the leaves over Pronails Folksy Frock and I like the combo.

ABC Challenge - H = HM Papaya Dream

Jag är inget större fan av korallfärgade lack, men kanske jag skulle kunna vänja mig precis som jag faktiskt gjort med rosa. För mitt lack till bokstaven H är HM Papaya Dream ett koralligt krämlack.

Det här var dock lite knepigt att måla med och det blev lite strimmigt. Nu när jag tittar på bilderna inser jag att tre lager förmodligen varit bra. Jag har två och topplack. Topplacket var nödvändigt för att släta ut det tycker jag.

Som sagt jag tycker färgen är riktigt fin, kanske till och med kan erkänna att jag faktiskt tycker om den. Dock tror jag inte den finns att köpa längre, för det här verkar vara en av alla dessa miniflaskor som HM kommer ut med hela tiden. Och jag kunde inte hitta det på deras hemsida. Själv har jag fått det i present av en av mina vänner i lackgruppen.

I'm not a big fan of coral colored polishes, but maybe I could get used to it just like I actually did with pink. Because my polish for the letter H is  HM Papaya Dream a coral creme polish. 

This was a bit tricky to paint with and it did turn out a little streaky. When I look at the pictures now I realize that three layers probably would have been a good idea. I have two and topcoat in the pictures. The topcoat  was necessary to eve it out, I think.

That said, I think the color is really nice, maybe I could even admit that I actually enjoy it. However, I don't think it's available anymore, for this seems to be one of those mini bottles HM comes out with all the time. And I could not find it on their website. I received it as a present from one of my friends in the birthdaygroup.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents - Typography #3

Månaden börjar närma sig sitt slut och återigen ligger jag lite efter med mina fyra manikyrer på temat Typografi.

Idag har jag valt att göra en svart/vit manikyr i musikens tecken. Lacken jag använt är Zoya Purity och Raven. Mönstren kommer från MoYou Nails 97 och Konad M73.

Om ni undrar hur texten går ihop med musik så är det ju så att det faktiskt står Sound där bland texten.

Jag gillar hur det här blev. Svart och vitt är alltid snyggt.

The month is coming to an end and once again, I am a little behind with my four manicures on the theme of Typography.

Today I have chosen to make a black / white manicure in the name of  music. The polishes I used is Zoya Purity and Raven. The patterns come from MoYou Nails 97 and Konad M73.

If you wonder how the text goes together with music it's a fact that it actually stands Sound there among the letters. 

I like how this turned out. Black and white is always neat.

Pronails - Folksy Frock

När Katarina från Edgy Polish skickade över Pronails Folksy Frock till mig för att testa blev jag ordentligt nyfiken på om ett märke som faktiskt är utformat för att användas av nagelterapeuter och professionella salonger verkligen kan skilja sig så mycket från ett lack gjort av en Indiemaker eller main stream märken.

När jag först provmålade på sticka blev jag besviken för det såg skirt ut och jag fick en känsla av att det inte skulle täcka speciellt bra. Vilket i alla fall jag räknar med när det gäller lite mörkare röda färger.

Men väl sittande och målande på naglarna ändrade jag åsikt rätt snabbt. För det här var verkligen bra att måla med. En perfekt formula som visade sig täcka på två lager. Kanske till och med en om man har riktigt korta naglar. Torktiden var också bra. På bilderna ser ni det utan topplack så glansigheten är det heller inget fel på.

Folksy Frock är ett tegelrött krämlack. En färg som jag tycker är väldigt snygg och klädsam.

Men är det då någon skillnad på ett salongslack och andra lack? Nu har jag bara testat ett enda från märket, men om dom andra är lika bra så kan jag ju säga så här. Ja och nej. I det här fallet tycker jag att man får vad man betalar för. Alltså ett lack som man kan räkna med håller hög standard när det kommer till formula och hantering. Jag kan däremot inte säga något om hållbarheten då jag sällan har lack längre än 1-2 dagar. Den största skillnaden kan jag nog tycka är det inte finns lika mycket variation här.

Bland indies & mainstream finns mer att välja på vad det gäller färger och finish. Och visst kan man absolut få bra lack med väldigt bra egenskaper från både indies och mainstream också, men min magkänsla säger mig att det är mer varierande kvalité på dom lacken.

Så mitt slutomdöme är att om du är ute efter bra krämlack så är det här absolut ett bra märke.

When Katarina from Edgy Polish sent over Pronails Folksy Frock to me for testing, I was thoroughly curious if a brand that is actually designed to be used by nail technicians and professional salons can really differ that much from a Indie or main stream brand.

When I first painted with this on a display stick I was disappointed because it looked very sheer and I got the feeling that it would not cover very well. Which in any case I expect when it comes to darker red creme colors.

But once I started to paint the nails I changed my opinion pretty quick. For this was really great to work with. A perfect formula that turned out to cover in two layers. Maybe even one if you have really short nails. The drying time was also good. In the pictures you can see it without a topcoat so there is definitly nothing wrong with the gloss.

Folksy Frock is a brick red cream polish. A color that I think is nice and looks good on my nails.

But is there any difference between a salon polish and other polishes? Well I have only tested one polish from this brand, but if the others are as good as this I can say like this. Yes and no. In this case, I think you get what you pay for. Thus, a polish which one can expect a high standard when it comes to the formulation and how it is to work with. I can not, however, say something about the durability since I rarely have a polish on longer than 1-2 days. The biggest difference that I can think of is the lack of variation.

Among indies and mainstream there are more to choose from in terms of colors and finishes. And sure, you can certainly get good polishes with very good formula from both indie and mainstream, too, but my gut tells me it's more variable quality among those.

So my final opinion is that if you're looking for good cream polishes, this is definitely a good brand.
