Reader's Choice - Kiko 255

Då var det lördag igen! Och om allt går som vi tänkt oss så blir det en liten utflykt till Malmö för att kolla på fotoutställning.

Men, jag kan ju inte låta er vänta på veckans läsarnas val förstås. Denna veckans omröstning var riktigt spännande ska jag säga och den var inte avgjord förrän röstningstiden var slut. Kiko 255 vann något lite förvånande med en enda röst över Glam Polish Wicked.

Det här lacket finns både ris och ros att säga om faktiskt. Men för att vara pedagogisk så börjar vi väl med riset för att avsluta med ros.

255 är ett mörkt lilla lack med microglitter i och i flaskan ser det ut som att det skulle vara riktigt mycket glitter, men där tar man fel. För faktum är att glittret syns väldigt lite när man inte sätter lyse direkt på naglarna. Det är faktiskt så pass mörkt då att det nästan gränsar till svärtat. En annan sak som jag inte heller tyckte om var att torktiden faktiskt var lite seg. Något jag inte upplevt på Kiko lack innan. Nu går ju det faktiskt att åtgärd enkelt med ett snabbtorkande topplack, men lite surt är det ändå.

Och nu med raska steg över till det positiva istället. Dels så är det här mycket trevligt att måla med och täcker på två lager och sen tycker jag vi tar och glömmer bort det där med att det är tråkigt att glittret inte kommer fram för om sanningen ska fram så är det ändå ett väldigt trivsamt lack. Ett perfekt vardagsbling. Jag har just nu något kortare naglar än på ett tag och den här typen av färg tycker jag är väldigt smickrande på kortare naglar. Jag har burit det här i tre dagar nu och trivs väldigt bra i det.

Så på bilderna är det två lager lack och topplack.

Ok it's Saturday again! And if all goes as we had planned we will take a little trip to Malmö to check out a photo exhibition.

But, I can't let you wait for this week's readers' choice of course. This week's vote was really exciting, I say and it was not settled until voting time was over. A bit surprinsingly to me it was Kiko 255 that won with one vote over Glam Polish Wicked.

This polish is both good and bad to be honest. But to be educational, let's start with the rice to finish with a rose.

255 is a dark purple polish with micro glitter and in the bottle, it looks like it would be really glitzy, but there is when it start to trick you. For the fact is that the glitter is very discrete when you don't put lights directly on your nails. It's actually so dark that it's almost bordering blackened. Another thing I don't liked was that the drying time was actually a little tough. Something I had not experienced in Kiko polishes before. Now of course that is something that is easily fixed with a good fast drying topcoat but it's still a bit annoying.

And now with quick steps over to the positive instead. First of all this is very nice to paint with and it covers in two layers. And you know what I think we should just forget about the fact that the glitter doesn't show that well because if truth be told, it is still a very pleasant polish. A perfect everyday bling. I have for the moment a bit shorter nails and this kind of color I think is very flattering on short nails. I have been wearing this for three days now and I really enjoy it.

So in the pictures I have two coats and topcoat.

Purrfect Pawlish - Phantom

Dags för lack nummer två från Purrfect Pawlishs kommande Ghost kollektion som släpps den 25/9. Det här är ett layering lack som alltså är till för att målas över andra lack.

Det här är Phantom som jag har lagt över Pitch Black som jag visade igår. Ett lager och topplack är vad jag har på bilderna.

Phantom är ett duochromt lack som skiftar mellan blått och lila. Dom här skiftningarna var desto lättare att fånga på bild än vad dom i Haunted var. Den blåa färgen är dominant och syns hela tiden, men det skiftar fint även om det inte är supertydligt. I vilket fall som helst så är det en grymt snygg blå effekt som det blir av det här.

Det var smidigt att jobba med och torkade i helt ok takt.

Jag hade nog förväntat mig att jag skulle gilla Haunted bättre än Phantom, men se där hade jag fel. Det här gillade jag verkligen riktigt mycket. Ska bli kul att testa över andra färger än svart också.

Time for polish numbers two from Purrfect Pawlishs upcoming Ghost collection which will be released on the 25th of September. This is a layering polish which is designed to be used over other polishes. 

This is Phantom that I have put over Pitch Black that I showed yesterday. One layer and topcoat is what I have in the pictures.

Phantom is a duochrome polish that alternates between blue and purple. The shifts in this was so much easier to capture in a photograph than they were in Haunted. The blue color is dominant and visible all the time, but it shifts nicely even if it's not super clear. In any case the blue effect that shows all the time is super nice.

It was easy to work with and dried in ok paste.

I had probably expected that I would like Haunted better than Phantom, but I was wrong. I really liked this a lot. And I think it will be fun to test it over other colors than black too.

Purrfect Pawlish - Pitch Black

Man kan ju tycka att ett svart krämlack är likadant vilket märke man än väljer, men det är ju inte riktigt sant. För det skiljer ju sig väldigt mycket mellan formulan på dom olika och på finishen med skulle jag vilja säga.

Purrfect Pawlish Pitch Black kommer vara ett av lacken ur kommande Ghost kollektionen och tanken är att man ska kunna ha det här som underlag till de andra som är layering lack.

Jag har valt att visa det här utan topplack för att ni ska få se vilken finish det har. Och dessutom så målade jag ju på det för att ha det som bas så det var ju rätt onödigt att lägga på topplack.

Om man tar ett något lite tjockare lager så täcker det här på ett lager vilket jag alltid uppskattar när det gäller svarta lack som i alla fall jag mest använder som bas till andra lack. Torktiden var helt ok. det här är inte helt glansigt när det har torkat utan lite matt, själv tycker jag det är snyggt så, men vill man ha glansigt så är det bara att lägg topplack på.

Jag tycker att det här var ett riktigt bra svart lack och det bästa är att om man köper något av de multichroma lacken ur kollektionen så får man med en flaska av det här på köpet.

One might think that a black cream polish is the same which brand you choose, but it's not really true. Because both the formula and the finish can be very different. 

Purrfect Pawlish Pitch Black is one of the polishes from the upcoming Ghost collection and the idea is to use this as the base for the others who are layering polishes.

I have chosen to show this without topcoat to ensure you'll get to see the finish it has. And besides that, I painted with this with the intention to use it as a base so it would have been unnecessay to add topcoat.

If one takes a slightly thicker layer this will cover in only one layer which I always appreciate in a black polish since I mostly use black as a base to other polishes. The drying time was ok. This doesn't dry glossy but not completly matte either. I think it looks pretty good, but if you want it glossy just add topcoat. 

I think this was a really good black polish and the best part is that if you purchase any of the multichrome polishes from the collection, you get a bottle of this for free. 

The Ghost collection will be available in Purrfect Pawlish store from the 25th of September.

Purrfect Pawlish - Haunted

Ibland är det bara helt hopplöst att fånga ett lacks verkliga skönhet på bild och Purrfect Pawlish Haunted är absolut ett sånt lack.

Det här är ett lack ur den kommande Ghost kollektionen som släpps den 25/9. Kollektionen består av 4 stycken layering lack och ett svart kräm lack. När man köper ett eller flera av layering lacken så får man med det svarta Pitch Black på köpet, men det kommer också att finnas att köpa enskilt. Mer om det lacket kommer i ett annat inlägg.

För nu ska vi rikta uppmärksamheten mot Haunted. Det här är ett lack som inte är gjort för att användas på egen hand utan för att lägga över andra och jag har valt att visa det målat över Pitch Black. Haunted skiftar mellan guld/brons/lila. Skiftningarna är kanske inte supertydliga, men dom är absolut där och det är hur fint som helst. Kanske inte superunikt, men den här typen av lack dyker upp lite då och då och är alltid väldigt snygga.

På bilderna har jag lagt ett lager över svart och topplack. Jag har provat med två lager också, men jag tycker faktiskt det blev snyggare med bara ett. Det var lätt att måla med och torktiden var helt ok.

Sometimes it's just not possible to catch a polish true nature on a photo and Purrfect Pawlish Haunted is definitely one of those polishes.

This is a polish from the upcoming Ghost Collection that will be released the 25th of September. The collection consists of 4 different layering polishes and a black creme polish. When you buy one or more of the layering polishes you will get Pitch Black (black creme) as a bonus, but it will also be available to buy individually. More about that polish will come in another post.

For now we will put our attention on Haunted. This is a layering polish that is made to be used on top of other polishes and not on it's own and I have chosen to show it painted over Pitch Black. Haunted is shifting between gold / bronze / purple. It might not have as clear shifts as some multichromes but they sure are there and the polish is very beautiful. Maybe not super unique, but this type of polishes pops up now and then and is always very stylish.

In the pictures I have added one layer of Haunted over black and topcoat. I've tried with two layers too, but I actually think it was nicer with just one. It was easy to paint with and the drying time was ok.

Isadora - Persian Princess

Undrar när jag visade ett lack från Isadora senast? Måste varit ett bra tag sedan, men idag har jag plockat fram ett lack från 2012 års Jewels Of The Orient kollektion som var en riktigt bra kollektion.

Persian Princess finns inte med i Isadoras bas utbud, men jag ser fortfarande det i rea korgar lite här och där så det går att få tag på. Det är faktiskt inte så länge sedan jag köpte mitt.

Färgen är en underbart rödtonad lila med ett riktigt fint djup och skimmer i sig. Det blir nästan lite glödande på naglarna faktiskt. Formulan är bra. På bilderna har jag tre lager och topplack, men jag tror det kan räcka med två lager egentligen.

Det här är återigen ett sånt där lack som får mig att komma ihåg hur jag kände den där gången jag varit på nagelsalong och fått mina naglar målade för första gången i en lila ganska snarlik den här. Jag tycker det är väldigt vackert och om ni hittar det i en liten reakorg någonstans. Köp det!

I wonder when I showed a polish from Isadora last time? Must have been quite a while ago, but today I picked up a polish from the 2012 Jewels of the Orient collection that was a really good collection.

Persian Princess is not in Isadora normal range, but I still see it in sales baskets here and there so it is possible to get. It's actually not that long ago since I bought mine.

The color is a wonderful reddish purple with a really nice depth and shimmer in it. It becomes almost glowing on the nails. The formula is good. In the pictures I have three coats and top coat, but I think it may be enough with two layers. 

This is again one of those polishes that makes me remember how I felt that time I had been to the nail salon and have my nails painted for the first time in a purple that was pretty similar to this. I think it is very beautiful and if you find it in a sales basket somewhere: Buy it!
