Stamping with Mentality Emily and Vivid Lacquer plates!

Vivid Lacquers stamping plattor har jag varit nyfiken på ganska länge faktiskt och när Katarina på Edgy Polish fick in dom i lager och dessutom frågade om jag ville testa någon så tackade jag självklart ja med ett stort leende.

Allt jag använt i den här manikyren går faktiskt att hitta på Edgy Polish. Basen är lacket jag visade igår Polish TBH Pathos. Mönstret kommer från Vivid Lacquer platta nr 14 och lacket jag gjort mönstret med är Mentality Emily.

Vad tycker jag nu om den här plattan då? Mönstren är mycket bra etsade och följer fint med upp på stämpeln.

Det är riktigt stora mönster på plattan om ni kollar bilden på själva plattan och sen jämför med vad jag har på nageln så ser ni att det kanske är en tredje del av mönstret. Jag ser ju dock inte detta som en nackdel. Dels är det bra om man har mycket bredare naglar än vad jag har och dels så ger det ju faktiskt en ganska mycket valmöjlighet till hur man vill utforma sin manikyr. Mönstret var inte heller så djupt etsat att det var svårt att rengör plattan vilket alltid är en fördel tycker jag.

Man skulle också mycket väl kunna välja att ta ljusare underlag och stämpla med vitt för att sen fylla i med så kallad leadlight i det här mönstret.

Jag gillar hur färgerna funkade ihop mellan Pathos och Emily och jag gillar mönstret även om jag erkänner att jag den här gången kanske inte fick till det hundraprocentigt, men det skyller jag på min förkylning!

Vivid Lacquers stamping plates is something I've been curious about for quite some time actually and when Katarina on Edgy Polish got them in stock and additionally asked if I wanted to try one I obvious said yes with a big smile.

Everything I used in this manicure is actually things you can find at Edgy Polish. The base is the polish I showed yesterday Polish TBH Pathos. The pattern comes from Vivid Lacquer plate 14 and the polish I made the pattern with is Mentality Emily.

What do I think about this plate then? The patterns are very well etched and follows nicely on to the stamp. 

The patterns are really big. If you look at the picture with the plate and then compare with what I have on the nail you will see that it is perhaps a third part of the pattern. I however sees that as an advantage. Not only is it good if you have much wider nails than I have but also it gives you more than just one choice of manicure from one image. The pattern was not so deeply etched that it was difficult to clean the plate which is always an advantage, I think.

I can also see this one used over a much brighter color stamped with white and then filled in with so called leadlight technique.

I like how the colors worked together between Pathos and Emily and I like the pattern, although I admit that I maybe this time did not get to it one hundred percent perfect, but I blame my cold for that!

Polish TBH - Pathos

Jag tänker erkänna att jag tycker lite synd om mig själv faktiskt. Hade inte alls planerat att bli superförkyld och få feber sådär lagom till midsommar. Nåväl, idag har jag i alla fall varit uppe ur sängen lite och till och med lyckats måla om naglarna.

Lacket har jag fått från Edgy Polish och är från ett för shoppen nytt märke som heter Polish TBH. Det är även ett nytt märke för mig. Det fanns flera färger som jag tyckte såg fina ut, men som vanligt så var det ju ett rött som drog till sig mina blickar först.

Pathos är ett rött skimmer som i flaskan ser att ha mycket blått skimmer, men på nageln visar det sig att det faktiskt är det rosa som syns mest. Något överraskande faktiskt. Formulan var bra om än något lite omild om man försökte rätta till något. Lacket följde gärna med penseln då. Täckningsförmågan var mycket bra och två lager räckte.

Nu kanske ni tror att jag inte gillar det här för att det blev rosa skimmer, men där har ni fel. För visst syns det tydligt på bilderna och det syns helt klart i verkligheten också, men jag gillar det. Jag tycker den röda grundfärgen är så fin och skimret gör att det får mycket mer liv i sig. Jag hade helt klart föredragit mer blått, men man kan inte få allt och det här är ändå ett mycket vackert lack som jag tycker mycket om.

I'm going to admit I feel a bit sorry for myself actually. I had not planned to be get a super cold and a fever just in time for our Swedish Midsummer celebration! Well, at least I have been out of bed for a little while todya and even managed to paint my nails.

The polish is a one that I have received from Edgy Polish and it's from a new brand for the shop called Polish TBH. This is also a new brand for me. There were several colors which I thought looked nice, but as so many times before there was a red one that cought my eyes a little more than the others. 

Pathos is a red shimmer and in the bottle it looks to have very much blue shimmer, but on the nail, it turns out that it is actually the pink that is most visible. Somewhat surprisingly, actually. The formula was good if somewhat a bit harsh if you tried to fix something. If you are not careful you might drag the already painted polish with you. The coverage was very good and two coats was enough. I also have layer of Poshé over it. 

Now you may think I don't like this because it was pink shimmer, but you have it wrong. For sure the pink clearly shows in the pictures and it shows clearly in real life too, but I like it. I like the red basecolor that is so nice and the shimmer makes it get a lot more life in it. I had clearly preferred more blue, but you can't have everything and this is still a very beautiful polish that I like very much.

The Neverending Pile Challenge - Blue

Den här typen av blåa lack kan jag inte få för många av! Och ändå har det fått ligga i lådan länge.

Alltså den där riktigt mörkt blåa som nästan lutar lita åt svart liksom. Zoya Ibiza är ett sånt lack. Zoya brukar ju vara smidiga att lacka med, men det här var något lite rinnigt faktistk.

Nåja, färgen är för snygg för att jag ska tycka att det gör allt för mycket. På bilderna har jag två lager och inget topplack.

Det här är ju absolut inget unikt lack i sig, men jag gillar det verkligen mycket.

I can't get enough polishes with this kind of color! And still it had to lay in my drawer waiting a long time.

You know this really really dark blue that almost leans to black. Zoya Ibiza is one of those polishes. Zoya usually have exelent formula, but this was a bit runny actually. 

Well, the color is too pretty for me to think that it matters all that much. In the pictures I have two coats and no top coat. 

This is of course absolutely not a unique polish, but I really like it a lot.

L.A Girl Disco Brites - Groovy and review of Born Pretty Store Black Studs

Lite lysande lila blir man alltid glad av. I alla fall enligt mig. Så idag visar jag er L.A Girl Disco Brites Groovy.

Det här är inte ett neon lack, men man kan nästan tro det. Det ska vara självlysande i fluorescerande lyse i alla fall. Jag har testat med andra lack i den här serien och det funkar faktiskt.

L.A Girl är faktiskt ett av dom märkena som man sällan blir besviken på formulan med. Det här lacket var också enkelt att lacka med och täcker på två lager. Dessutom torkar det riktigt fort.

Jag gillar färgen jättemycket och kommer säkerligen att använda den som underlag till andra nailart varianter än det jag visar idag. Tyvärr så ser det lite ojämnt ut på långfingret, men det har inget med lacket att göra utan för att jag har en lite dåligt utförd lagning där.

För att piffa till det hela lite grann så har jag valt att lägga på lite svarta nitar ifrån Born Pretty Store. Dels var dom här lätta att placera, men det jag gillade mest med dom var att dom inte sticker upp lika mycket som många liknande nailart saker gör. Det här är alldeles lagom med bling för mig. Tycker att kontrasterna mellan färgen på lacket och trianglarna blev mycket bra.

Some brilliant purple always makes me happy. So today I show you LA Girl Disco Brites Groovy.

This is not a neon color, but you can almost believe that. It should be luminous under Blacklight in all cases. I have tested with other polishes in this series, and it actually works.

LA Girl is actually one of those brands that you rarely get disappointed with formula wise. This polish was also easy to paint with and covers in two layers. And it also dries really fast.

I like the color very much and will certainly use it as a basis to other nail art variants than what I show today. Unfortunately, it looks a little uneven on the middle finger, but it has nothing to do with the polish but because I have a bit poorly executed repairs there.

To spice it all up a little bit I decided to put on a little black studs from the Born Pretty Store. Firstly they were very easy to place, but what I liked most about them was that they do not protrude as much as many similar nail art stuff does. This is just the right amount of bling to me. Think that the contrast between the color of the polish and the triangles were very good.

The Neverending Pile Challenge - Purple

Det var ju faktiskt väldigt dumt av mig att vänta så länge med att använda Depend 258!

Jag vet att jag fick det här i ett byte, men det kan vara så mycket som 1½ år sedan och när jag kikade på Depends hemsida så verkar inte det här säljas längre vilket kanske i och för sig inte är så konstigt med tanke på att det tillhör höstkollektionen från 2011.

Nå i alla fall det här lacket är ett dovt smutslila som torkar med lite matt finish. Nu kände inte jag riktigt för det så jag har topplack på vilket jag tycker får silverskimret som finns i lacket att framträda lite tydligare.

Jag tror att man kan stoppa redan på ett lager om man har lite kortare naglar, men jag har två lager på. Torktiden var jättebra.

Det här gillar jag. Jag tycker rent ut sagt att det är skitsnyggt i all sin enkelhet, så hittar ni en flaska i en fyndkorg någonstans. Köp den!

It was actually very stupid of me to wait so long to use Depend 258! 

I know I got this in a swap and I think it can be as much as 1 ½ years ago and when I looked at Depends website it occured to me that this is discontinued, which might not be so strange since this actually is from their autumn collection from 2011. 

Well anyway this polish is a muffled purple almost a bit dusty shade that dries with a semi matte finish. Well I wasn't exactly in the mood for a matte polish so I have topcoat on which I think makes the silvershimmer appears more clear. 

I think you could actually stop at one coat if you have shorter nails, but I have two coats on. The drying time was great. 

I like this. I actually even like it very, very much in its simplicity so if you happened to find a bottle in a bargain basket somewhere. Buy it!
