Nailart Sunday - Tänd ett ljus!

Idag är det dagen före dopparedagen. Huset är nystädat och väntar på att få bli pyntat och skinkan väntar på att bli kokt och jag bara njuter av att vara ledig och känna att jag inte behöver stressa för att få något färdigt!

Lelack gav oss temat Tänd ett ljus med inspiration från låten med samma namn. En låt som jag inte är superimpad av, men självklart finns den med i min julmusiklista för den är ju liksom en modern klassiker. Julmusik är en av mina laster som resten av min familj inte direkt delar med mig.

I alla fall hade jag lite hjälp av övriga familjen för att komma fram till vad jag skulle hitta på med innehållet i låttexten och få det överfört till naglarna. Till slut kom vi/jag fram till en väldigt enkel lösning, men ändå något som jag blev nöjd och glad med.

Min tanke var att alla andra kommer troligen göra något med ljus och stjärnor så jag ville inte det. Textraden som inspirerade mig lyder så här: Det är mörkt nu, men det blir ljusare igen!

Hoppas det här är godkänt som nailart, för jag gjorde Ombre Naglar alltså från mörkt på tummen som då får symbolisera att det är mörkt nu och sen ljusare färg till det allra ljusaste på lillfingret.

Lacken jag använde är: (med början på tummen) Zoya Ibiza, China Glaze Man Hunt, Essence Snow White Grumpy, Gosh Blue Ballon och China Glaze Electric Beat.

Så mina vänner Det är mörkt nu, men det är på gång att vända och snart blir det ljusare.

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and here in Sweden that is the day we celebrate Christmas. The house is cleaned and waiting to be decorated and the Christmas ham is waiting to be cooked and I just enjoy being free and feel the Christmas spirit coming to me!
 

Lelacks theme this week is to do nails inspired from a Swedish modern Christmas Song called Tänd ett ljus translated that is Light a Candle. A song that I'm not super impressive of, but of course, it's included in my Christmas music list for after all it is a modern classicer. Christmas music is one of my vices that the rest of family do not directly share with me.

In any case, I had a little help from the rest of the family to come up with what I would find in the content of the lyrics and get it transferred to my nails. Finally we / I come to a very simple solution, but one that I was satisfied and happy with.

My thought was that everyone else will probably do something with lights and stars so I didn't want to to that. The text line that inspired me is this: It's dark now, but it gets brighter again!

Hope this is approved as nail art, because I did Ombre Nails from dark on the thumb which then may symbolize that it's dark now and then lighter color to the very lightest of the little finger.

The polishes I used is: (starting with the thumb) Zoya Ibiza, China Glaze Man Hunt, Essence Snow White Grumpy, Gosh Ballon Blue and China Glaze Electric Beat.

So my friends, it's dark now, but it is going to turn around and soon it becomes brighter.

OPI The Spy who loved me

Dags för ännu ett rött lack från en julkollektion nämligen OPI:s The Spy who loved me från Skyfall från den otroligt hypade Skyfall kollektionen.

Vid första anblicken var jag otroligt ointresserad av hela kollektionen, men vissa lack fick mig till slut på fall och ett av dom var det härligt röda The Spy who loved me.

Jag ångrar absolut inte att jag köpte det här. Färgen är härligt knallröd, med guldflakes i. Formulan var mycket trevlig att jobba med. Tre lager har jag på, men det går säkert att ta två lite tjockare om man vill det istället. Torktiden imponerade och penslen var som vanligt på OPI lacken bra.

På bilderna har jag inget topplack på för precis som vanligt så hade jag ju en baktanke när jag lackade på det här lacket....

Time for another red polish from a Christmas collection namely OPI's The Spy who loved me from the incredibly hyped Skyfall collection.

At first glance, I was incredibly unimpressed by the whole collection, but after seeing swatches of some polishes I changed my mind and one of them was the beautiful red The Spy who loved me.

I have no regrets whatsoever that I bought this. The color is wonderfully bright red, with goldflakes in. The formula was very pleasant to work with. I have three layers on, but I guess it works well with two little thicker layers as well. The drying time impressed me and the brush was as usual on OPI lacquer good.

In the pictures, I have no top coat on for just as usual, I had of course an ulterior motive when I painted in this color ....

Holofredag - Ozotic 518

Det är åter dags för Skimmerskuggans holofredag och så här bara några dagar innan jul tänker jag äntligen bjuda er på ett lack som stått ett tag hos mig och som jag liksom sparat lite på, men nu är det absolut rätt tid för att visa er Ozotic 518.

Ett underbart rött hololack med väldigt fina regnbågar. Till lackets nackdel hör att det är ganska skirt. Jag har målat tre lager och ett fjärde hade definitivt inte skadat. Torktiden upplevde jag också som något längre än på många andra holosar. Dock inte så att det var jobbigt, men lite förvånande.

Jag glömde att lägga Aqua Base under och har Zoyas Ridgefiller, men det vållade inga som helst problem. Lacket var lätt att applicera och borsten kändes riktigt bra också. Över det hela har jag ett lager med Seche Vite. För övrigt så är det här ännu ett holo som jag gillar lika mycket när man har händerna i skuggan som i direkt ljus.

Jag kände att det här var ett passande julholo!

Just a few days before Christmas, I think it's time to finally show you a polish that has stood for a while in my drawer and I kind of  saved it a little for a special occasion,  but now it's definitely the right time to show your Ozotic 518.

A wonderful red holopolish with very nice rainbows. The negative thing about the polish is that it's quite delicate. I have painted three coats and a fourth would definitely not have been wrong. The drying time was also slightly longer than in many other holos. However, not that it was long to enough to cause a problem,  but a little surprising.

I forgot that I should have had Aquabase as a basecoat and instead applied Zoya Ridge Filler as usuall, but it caused no problems whatsoever. The polish was easy to apply and the brush felt really good too. Over it all, I have a layer of Seche Vite. Incidentally, this is yet another holo that I like as much when you have your hands in the shade as in direct light.

I felt this was a fitting Christmas Holo!

Lite nytt!

Idag låg det ett trevligt paket från Nailmail i min låda innehållandes 3 stycken Glitter Gal lacker och häromdagen fick jag ett annat litet paket som jag köpt via ebay.

Jag får väl erkänna utan att skämmas det minsta att jag prioriterade knäck kokning framför nagellackande idag, därav det korta inlägget, men jag kan avslöja att jag efter knäcken tog mig tid att fixa till naglarna inför holofredagen.

Belgian Chocolate, Teal Blue och Watermelon och varför jag beställt Watermelon undrade jag lite när jag fick flaskan i hand. Den ser nästan lite pärlemor aktig ut. Nåja, vi får väl se kanske är bättre än vad man tror på. 

OPI DS Temptation, en annan flaska som jag lev minst sagt förvånad när jag plockade upp ur påsen. Jag var nämligen säker på att jag beställt DS Extravagance, vilket jag inte hade gjort. Man ska helt klart inte lägga beställningar på Ebay utan att kolla vad man håller på med. Men, den är ju också fin så det blir säkert bra. Sist men inte minst China Glaze Def Defying. 

Today I found a nice package from Nailmail in my box that contained three bottles of Glitter Gal polishes and the other day I got another little package that I bought through ebay.

I have to admit without shame that today I put my first priority on making Christmas Candys and second doing my nails. That's the reason for the short post today. But I can reveal that finishing making the candy I did fix my nails so I can participate in Holo Friday!

The Nailmail parcel contained Glitter Gal Belgian Choclate, Teal blue and Watermelon. I really don't understand what I was thinking of when I ordered Watermelon in the bottle it looks like it has a pearl finish. But you never know it might look great on the nails. 

I also got a bit surprised when I opened my Ebay package. I was convinced that I had bought DS Extravagance but no, the seller had send me the right polish. Maybe this will be a lesson to me not to make spontaneous purchases on Ebay without thinking it through before commiting to buying. Anyway Temptation looks nice to.

En till gradient!

I söndags så visade jag en gradient i guld och svart. Jag blev ju så himla nöjd med den att jag tog och gjorde mig en ny.

Också denna gången har jag ett Zoya lack som grund nämligen Logan och till själva gradienten använde jag mig av Ziv. Färgerna passa superbra ihop med tanke på att det är ganska mycket guld även i den gröna Logan.

Återigen en gradient som jag har svampat på och resultat blev mycket lyckat. Så bra att det var lite svårt att ta bilder för färgerna flyter faktiskt ihop väldigt bra, även i verkligheten.

Kommer jag att göra ännu mer gradients. Jajamen, det här är ju superkul och jag förstår inte varför jag inte gjort mera tidigare.

Last Sunday I showed you a gradient in gold and black. I was so amazingly happy with it that I made me another one.

Also this time I have a Zoya polish as a base, that is Logan and to the gradient I used Ziv. The colors fit together super considering that it is pretty much gold even in the green Logan.

Again a gradient that I have used a sponge to do. And the results were very successful. So good that it was a bit hard to take pictures of it because the colors actually flows together very well, even in real life.

Will I do even more gradients. Oh yes, this is super fun and I don't understand why I haven't done more before.
