Untried A-Z Challenge: M = Marc Jacobs Ultraviolet

Idag har jag haft äran att vara barnvakt till en av våra kompisars 7-åring. Mycket spring i benen och mycket funderingar i den åldern, men så härligt okonstlat. Fixat lite kvällsmat och haft ett litet snabbt besök av min bror också. En bra dag.

Vi är nu redan på bokstaven M i Untried A-Z Challenge som Lustrous Lacquer håller i och jag valde att måla med Marc Jacobs Ultraviolet. Och nu är vi där igen, jag är inte kompis med jelly lack. De två första lagren blev väldigt strimmiga och faktiskt ganska fula, tredje fixade till det hela och glansen i de här lacken är ju absolut oslagbar. På bilderna har jag topplack över.

Färgen på det här lacket är en lite mörkare lila som jag fullkomligt älskar, men det hjälper liksom inte när jag ogillar applikationen så mycket. Synd, för om det här hade varit ett kräm lack eller kanske till och med en crelly så hade jag älskat lacket. Nu älskar jag färgen, men inte lacket.

Today I have had the honor of taking care of one of our friends 7 years old. So much energy and so many questions about absolutely everything in that age, but so amazing. Fixed some supper and had a quick visit of my brother too. A good day.

We are already on the letter M in the Untried A-Z Challenge hosted byt Lustrous Lacquer and I chose to paint with Marc Jacobs Ultraviolet. And now we're there again, I'm not a friend of jelly finish. The first two layers became very streaky and actually quite ugly, the third fixed it all and the gloss in these polishes is absolutely unbeatable. In the pictures I have topcoat over.

The color of this is a darker purple that I totally love, but it doesn't help when I dislike the application so much. Too bad, because if this had been a cream or maybe even a crelly, I would have loved the polish. Now I love the color, but not the polish.

OPI - Hopelessly Devoted to OPI & Pink Ladies Rule the School gradient

Vilken härlig Midsommarhelg vi har haft! Mycket god mat, glada skratt och allt detta tillsammans med fina vänner och familj. Jag har också försökt mig på att baka marängbottnar till tårta. Gick sådär kan jag säga, men nästa gång...

Idag fick jag för mig att jag skulle göra en gradient med hjälp av två av lacken från OPI.s Grease kollektion. Båda i rosa färg och bägge i krämfinish. Hopelessly Devoted to OPI är det något laxrosa ljusare av de två och Pink Ladies Rule the School har en lite mörka rosa ton, men ändå åt laxhållet. Hopelessly var helt ok att jobba med och täckte på två lager.

Nja, jag gjorde nog en liten missbedömning med de här två färgerna. Jag trodde att skillnaden skulle vara mer uppenbar på naglarna. Dock så tycker jag fortfarande att det här blev en snygg gradient, men väldigt diskret.

What a lovely Midsummer weekend we have had! Lot's of good food, many laughs and all this together with nice friends and family. I have also tried to bake marlin bottoms for a cake. Didn't go all that well, but next time ...

Today, I suddenly felt like doing a gradient using two of the polishes from OPI's Grease collection. Both pink and both with cream finish. Hopelessly Devoted to OPI, is the lighter kind of salmon pink of the two and Pink Ladies Rule the School has a little darker pink tone, but still almost salmon. Hopelessly was okay to work with and covers in two layers.

Well, I did a little mistake with these two colors. I thought the difference would be more obvious on the nails. However, I still think this turned out as a pretty nice but very discreet gradient.

Smitten Polish - Zelda's Fall-ly

Glad Midsommar på er allihopa! Själva ska vi fira med fina vänner dagen lång, med både sill, nypotatis och grillat. Och jordgubbar förstås.

Men vi får ju inte glömma att det också är fredag och det betyder ju holofredag hos Sminkan. Jag har plockat fram ett lack som kom redan 2013 och som jag köpt via en blogsale. Ett lack som har en lite höstigare röd färg med ett härligt holo i sig. Det här är Smitten Polish Zelda's Fall-ly (nuvarande Dreamland Lacquer). Riktigt bra att måla med och två lager räcker gott. På bilderna har jag topplack över.

Visst det här har lite mer höstkänsla över sig i den röda tonen, men vad gör väl det? Helt fantastisk färg som jag tycker funkar alldeles utmärkt att fira Midsommar i.

Happy Midsummer to all of you! We are going to celebrate with friends all day long, with herring, fresh potatoes and barbequet. And strawberries of course.

But we must not forget that it is also Friday, and that means HoloFriday at Sminkans. I have picked up a polish that came in 2013 and I bought through a blog sale. A polish that has a slightly autumn red color with a beautiful holo. This is Smitten Polish Zelda's Fall-ly (current Dreamland Lacquer). Really good to paint with and two layers are good enough. In the pictures I have topcoat over.

Sure this has a little more autumn feeling in the red tone, but who cares? Absolutely amazing color that I think works great to celebrate Midsummer in.

Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Inspired by a book #1

Jag har varit jätteseg med att försöka få till några manikyrer till månadens tema i Nail Challenge Collaborative. Temat är inspirerat av böcker och jag borde ju kunna fixa massa av manikyrer så mycket böcker som jag lyssnar på, men jag har helt enkelt varit för slö.

Idag tog jag dock tag i det hela för häromdagen fick jag hem Glam Polish lack med Harry Potter tema och jag kom på att jag hade vattendekaler med de olika hussköldarna liggande. Alltså har jag prytt naglarna med Glam Polish Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff och Slytherin och på varje har jag husets sköld. Det blev lite kladdigt för jag fick måla vitt på baksidan av dekalerna för att de skulle synas över de färgade lacken, men annars en helt ok manikyr. Jag kommer visa de olika lacken separat vid senare tillfällen. 

I have been very lazy this month when it comes to making manicures for this month's theme in the Nail Challenge Collaborative. The theme is inspired by books and I should be able to fix a lot of manicures as many books as I listen to, but I've just haven't been up to it. 

Today, however, I felt it really was time to do one. Main reason is that I got home Glam Polishes with Harry Potter theme, and I realized that I had waterdecals with the various house shields lying around. So I have painted the nails with Glam Polish Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Slytherin and on each I have the shield of the house. It became a bit messy because I had to paint white on the back of the decals so that they would appear over the colored polish, but otherwise a perfectly ok manicure. I will show the different polishes separately on later occasions.

Depend 7 Day - Boardwalk Blues

Min skrivare slutade att fungera igår och jag tycker inte om att vara utan, så idag har jag varit och investerat i en ny. Plus nya fina gröna växter till vårt vardagsrum. I 9 år (sen vi renoverade) har jag enbart haft orkidéer i fönstren där, men har liksom tröttnat på hur de ser ut mellan blomningarna. För övrigt njuter jag av min ledighet och ser fram emot hösten.

Idag bjuder jag på ännu ett snyggt lack från Depend 7 Days Life of Venice kollektion. Det här heter Boardwalk Blues och är ett lila crelly. Lila med stark dragning åt rött. Mycket trevligt att jobba med och jag tyckte att två lager räckte, fast nu när jag ser bilderna så ser det faktiskt lite strimmigt ut. Absolut inget man ser i verkligheten.

Ännu ett lack ur den här kollektionen som är superhärlig färg på och dessutom väldigt glansigt och fint. Perfekt både för vår och sommar. Jag gillar det här väldigt mycket och kommer att bära det igen.

My printer stopped working yesterday and I don't like being out, so today I've been investing in a new one. Plus new beautiful green plants to our living room. For 9 years (since we were renovating) I have only had orchids in the windows there, but have gotten tired of how they look between the blooms. By the way, I enjoy my summer holiday so much and look forward to the fall.

Today, I have another beautiful polish from the Depend 7 Days Life of Venice collection. This is called Boardwalk Blues and is a purple crelly. Purple with strong red tone to it. Very nice to work with and I thought two layers were enough, but now that I see the pictures, it looks a bit streaky. Absolutely nothing one sees in reality though.

Another polish from this collection that is just awesome. Perfect for both spring and summer. I like this very much and will wear it again.
