OPI - Is That a Spear In Your Pocket?

Idag är det som vanlig grön onsdag hos Karin och jag visar ett av lacken från OPIs kommande Fiji kollektion. Här i Sverige släpps denna i mitten av Februari. Is That a Spear In Your Pocket? är ett härligt grönt krämlack i en liten svårbeskrivbar grön färg.

Det är kräm, det är OPI och för mig så betyder det att det är bra kvalité och täcker på två lager. Självklart finns det undantag till detta, men det här lacket är inte ett av undantagen. Jag har topplack över på bilderna.

Det här är absolut en färg som tilltalar mig väldigt mycket. Snygg året om tycker jag.

It's green Wednesday at Karin's today and I have one of the polishes from OPIs upcoming Fiji collection to show you. Here in Sweden this will be released in the middle of February. Is That a Spear In Your Pocket? is a beautiful green creme polish in a kind of hard to describe green hue.

It's cream, it's OPI and for me that means good quality and a polish that covers in two layers. Obviously there are exceptions to this, but this polish is not one of the exceptions. I have a topcoat on in the pictures.

This is definitely a color that appeals very much to me. Stylish all year long in my opinion.

 

Turtle Tootsie Polishes - Together We Fight

Vissa lack är viktiga fastän man kanske inte är helt förtjust i det. Turtle Tootsie Polishes Together We Fight är ett sånt för mig. Chrissy som ägaren av märket heter är en av alla kvinnor som drabbats av bröstcancer. Hon är nu frisk, men självklart är det här ett ämne som berör henne djupt och därför har hon de senaste åren gjort kollektioner där en del av inkomsten går till olika fonder som stöder forskning kring sjukdomen. Det här lacket kommer från 2016 års kollektion.

Vi börjar väl med hur lacket var att måla med och det var absolut inga problem. Riktigt bra och färdigt på två snabbtorkande lager. Jag har topplack över på bilderna.

Vad är det som gör att jag inte är så förtjust i det då? Det är fint. Det finns en bra holoeffekt, men för mig var det nog lite för mesrosa. Jag hade gärna sett lite mer magenta i det. Då hade det här blivit en riktigt hit, nu är det bara ett ok lack för mig.

Some polishes are important for other reasons than being your favorits. Turtle Tootsie Polishes Together We Fight is one of those for me. Chrissy the owner of the brand is one of all the women who has suffered from breast cancer. She is now healthy, but obviously this is a subject that touches her deeply, and therefore she has in recent years made collections in which a part of the profits goes to various funds that support research into the disease. This polish is from the 2016 collection.

Let's start with how this was to work with and it was absolutely no problem. Really good formula and two coats is enough. It's also really fast drying. I have topcoat over in the pictures.

What is it that makes me not so fond of it? It's nice. There is a good holo in it, but for me, it was probably a bit too pale. I would have liked it a lot more if it had more magenta in it. That way it would have become a real hit, now it's just an ok polish for me.

 

Depend O2 - 511

Idag är det blå måndag hos Emelie och jag har lyckats pricka in detta! Lacket jag visar är återigen ett från Depend O2s Game, Set, Match kollektion. Ett ljusblått krämlack, men inte riktigt pastelligt utan med lite mer klös i.

Lacket är smidigt att jobba med. Två lager räcker och jag har topplack över på bilderna, men som sagt det är inte pastell och det blev inte alls strimmigt som dom brukar bli.

En riktigt härlig vårfärg eller varför inte som isblå färg om man nu vill göra lite vinter nail art kanske. Jag tycker det är fint, men det är inte den färgskalan som jag dra mig till mest. I alla fall inte just nu.

Today it's blue Monday at Emelie's and I have managed to pinpoint this! The polish I'm showing is again one from Depend O2's Game, Set, Match collection. A light blue cream polish, but not quite a pastel, no this has a little more edge to it.

The polish is easy to work with. Two layers is enough and I have a topcoat over in the pictures, but as I said it's not pastel, and it was not at all streaky as they tend to be.

A really lovely spring color or even as ice blue color if you want to do some winter nail art. I think it's fine, but it's not the color scale that I tend to be drawn towards. At least not right now.

Reader's Choice - Delush Polish Green With Ivy

Härligt med ledig lördag, funderar på att åka in och kolla på lite utställningar ikväll när Kulturnatten drar igång i stan närmast där jag bor.

Lacket som blev läsarnas val är ett som stått ett bra tag i min låda. Ett väldigt fint lack måste jag säga. Det är Delush Polish Green With Ivy som visas upp idag. En grangrön jelly med massa glitter i. Det har en ganska tjock formula så jag bestämde att två lager fick räcka. Ett lager till kanske hade gett lacket ytterligare lite mer dimension, men det hade också blivit ganska klumpigt på naglarna så två fick det bli. Penseln var lite yvig, inte spretig, men spred ut sig liksom så den blev väldigt bred. Annars så var det inga problem med att få med sig glittret upp ur flaskan och det spred sig fint på naglarna. Torktiden var bra och ja, jag har topplack över. Något jag tycker var nödvändigt med det här lacket då det torkade ganska matt och tråkigt.

Det här är väldigt, väldigt vackert tycker jag. Något som känns lite glittrigt och lyxigt, men ändå är rätt diskret. Jag gillar det! Nu får ni tre lila att rösta på tills nästa vecka.

Great with an unscheduled Saturday. I'm thinking of  go in to town later this evening and look at some art and photo exhibitions. We have something called the Culture Night that kicks off in the town closest to where I live tonight.

The polish that is this weeks readers' choice has been standing in my drawer for a while. A very nice polish must say. It's Delush Polish Green With Ivy that you will get to see today. A spruce green jelly with a lot of glitter in. It has a fairly thick formula, so I decided that two layers was enough. One more  layer might have given the polish some more depth, but it had also become rather clumsy on the nails so I decided two was enough. The brush was a little bushy, not sprawling, but spread out and became very wide. Otherwise, it was no trouble getting the glitter out of the bottle and it spread nicely on the nails. The drying time was good and yes, I have a topcoat over. Something I think was necessary with this polish since it dried quite dull and boring.

This is very, very beautiful, I think. Something that gives you a little sparkle and luxury, yet is pretty discreet. I like it! You will get three purple polishes to vote on for the next week. 

CND Vinylux - Ecstasy

Fredag och jag slutade tidigt, inte dumt alls!

Idag blir det knallrosa här på bloggen. Är väl inte så dumt att börja ledigheten med riktigt färgglatt.

Ecstasy från CND Vinylux är tänkt att användas utan baslack, men det glömde jag när jag målade så första lagret var faktiskt lite knepigt. Men det kan också bero på att det är en jellykänsla i det här lacket och jag har svårt att komma överens med dem. Det som hände var att det lätt blev kala fläckar om man försökte rätta till något. Jag är dock rätt övertygad om att det hade med baslacket att göra. I vilket fall som helst så rättade det till sig redan på andra lagret och jag kände mig nöjd med två. Torktiden var bra och jag har som vanligt topplack över.

Jag är rätt säker på att jag sett något liknande det här lacket med den knalliga färgen och ett starkt blått skimmer, men jag kan inte för mitt liv komma på vilket lack det kan vara. I vilket fall som helst så tycker jag att det här är ett riktigt fint vårlack. Det är kul med skimmerlack där skimret faktiskt syns så tydligt som det gör i det här. Färgglatt är väl en rätt bra beskrivning för att summera.

Friday and I got home from school early, not bad at all!

Today I have a hot pink for you. Let's start the weekend with something really bright. 

Ecstasy from CND Vinylux is meant to be used without base coat, but I forgot that when I painted with it so that first layer was actually a little tricky. But it may also be because this has a jelly feeling to it and I find it difficult to get along with that. What happened was that it easily became bald spots if I tried to correct something. However, I am quite convinced that it had to do with the base coat. In any case it got smooth and nice on the second layer and I felt satisfied with two. The drying time was good and I have, as usual topcoat over.

I'm pretty sure I've seen something very similar to this polish the bright pink color and a strong blue shimmer, but I can't remember what polish that is no matter how hard I try. In any case, I think this is a really nice springpolish. It's fun with shimmer polishes where the shimmer is actually very visable as it is in this. Colourful well I guess that's a pretty good description to sum it up.

This polish is a part of the New Wave collection that will be released during January.
