Depend 481 with waterdecals

Dagens manikyr har en bra del och en dålig del och eftersom man alltid ska börja med det negativa och avsluta med det positiva så gör jag väl så denna gången också.

Den dåliga delen i manikyren är Depend 481 som är en del av sommarkollektionen Sunny Days, för det första så tog det fyra lager för att bli täckande. Jag kan mycket väl tänka mig att måla fyra lager om jag verkligen älskar färgen och det är en väl tilltagen flaska, men en flaska på 5ml går åt rätt fort om man ska måla så många lager. Färgen då? Det är något typ av turkos med lite frostig eller pärlemorfinish. Inte min grej alls. Man får vara noggrann när man målar annars blir det strimmigt som tusan. På bilderna har jag topplack på.

Nu till det bra i manikyren. Jag fick häromdagen ett brev från Ina som dels har den underbara bloggen My Nail Polish Online, men som även driver webbutiken Saijtam där man bl.a kan köpa vattendekaler och det var just det som jag fått för recension. För att rädda den här manikyren valde jag att lägga till lite söta fjärilar. Motiven sitter på ett ark med massa olika fjärilar på, så man får klippa ut just dom man vill använda. Vattendekaler ska sen doppas en stund i vatten för att få bort det skyddande pappret bakom och dom här lossnade lätt från pappret och var lätta att placera. Riktigt bra dekaler tycker jag.

Ja, vad ska jag säga. Det blev i alla fall ett inlägg till Karins Gröna Onsdag och jag tycker att i slutänden med hjälp av dekaler och topplack så blev det ändå en rätt gullig manikyr, men jag kommer inte att använda det här lacket igen.

Today's manicure has a good part and a bad part and because you should always start with the negative and end with positive that is what I will do.

The bad part of the manicure is Depend 481 one of the polishes from their summer collection, first, it took four layers to be opaque. I can very well imagine to paint four layers if I really love the color and there is a generous bottle, but a bottle of 5ml will be gone pretty quickly if you need this many layers. The color then? It's some kind of turquoise with a little frosty or pearl finish. Not my thing at all. One must be careful when painting otherwise you will have a lot of brushstrokes. In the pictures I have topcoat on.

Now for the good part of the manicure. The other day I received a letter from Ina who is the writer of the wonderful blog My Nail Polish Online, but also co-owner of the online store Saijtam which among other things sells water decals and that was what I got for review. To save this manicure, I decided to add some sweet butterflies. The motives is sitting on a sheet with lots of different butterflies on, so you have to cut out just the ones you want to use. As you probably already know you then need to put the water decals into water for a short time to be able to remove the protective paper they sit on and this came off easily from the paper and was easy to place. Really good decals, I think.

Well, what can I say. In any case I did manage to get a post to Karin's Green Wednesday and I think that in the end with the help of the decals and top coat it did turn out pretty cute, but I will not use this polish again.

 

Lilypad Lacquer - Rebel at Heart

Ser ut att bli ännu en vacker höstdag idag, själv ska jag hjälpa min mamma att välja glasögon innan det blir skogspromenad.

Idag blir det ett vackert rött holo från Lilypad Lacquer här på bloggen.

Namnet på lacket är Rebel at Heart och det är som sagt rött och holo. Inte knallrött, utan en något ljusare röd nyans, men väldigt fin. Fin är även formulan, lätt att måla med och torkar fort. Två lager räcker för täckning. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Lätt att lacka med och ändå har jag lite lack ner i nagelbanden, men det beror absolut inte på lacket utan på den där trötta personen som satte sig att måla vid kvart över nio igår kväll.

Det här är riktigt tjusigt, underbar holo och vacker röd färg. Just ett sånt lack som jag är mycket sugen på att använda just nu.

Today I have a beautiful red holo from Lilypad Lacquer here on the blog.

The name of the polish is Rebel at Heart and it's like I said red and holo. Not a super bright red, but a slightly lighter shade of red, but very nice. And nice is also the formula, easy to apply and dries quickly. Two layers are sufficient for coverage. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

Easy to paint with, and yet I have some polish in my cuticles, but it's certainly not because of the quality of the polish but in that tired person who sat down to paint her nails at quarter past nine last night.

This is really fancy, wonderful holo and beautiful red color. Just that kind of polish that I am very keen to use right now.

 

OPI - Freedom of Peach

OPIs höstkollektion Washington DC är högaktuell och jag visar ännu ett lack från den idag.

Freedom of Peach är precis som övriga lack i kollektion ett krämlack. Och precis som dom andra lacken jag provat så var första lagret lite strimmigt, men två lager, sen var det klart och det var ändå bra att jobba med. Torktiden var bra och på bilderna har jag topplack på.

Peach tycker jag inte är helt rätt, hade nog faktiskt inte velat äta en persika med den här färgen. För mig känns det som jag har fått en kolasmet på naglarna. Och kola är ju gott, men jag är inte helt förtjust i det här lacket. Det är något med färgen som inte tilltalar mig. Däremot kan jag mycket väl se det här i någon typ av höst nail art eller skittle med de andra bruntonade lacken från kollektionen.

OPIs Autumn Collection Washington DC is very topical right now and I will show yet another polish from it today.

Freedom of Peach is just like the rest of the polishes in the collection a cream polish. And just like the others that I tried my experience is that  the first layer becomes a bit streaky, but number two does the trick. But it's not hard to work with at all. The drying time was good and in the pictures I have topcoat on.

Peach, hm I don't think that is quite right. I would probably not eat a peach with this color. For me it feels like I have a toffee batter on the nails. And toffee is really nice, but I'm not fond of this polish. There is something about the color that doesn't appeal to me. However, I can very well see this in any type of fall nail art or skittle with the other brown tinted polishes from the collection.

 

Nail Art Sunday & NCC

Välkommen till ännu en Nail Art Sunday som jag i vanlig ordning kombinerar med The Nail Challenge Collaborative.

Denna veckan finns det inget tema, men eftersom vi kör på Skördetider i NCC så har jag valt att göra en nail art utefter det.

Basen är gårdagens Native War Paints Patty O'Green, som jag sen stämplat med ett äppelmönster från Fab Ur Nails nr 3. Efter det fyllde jag i vissa av dom små äpplena med OPI Big Apple Red.

Kanske inte den vackraste manikyren jag gjort, men jag gillar den ändå på något sätt.

Welcome to yet another nail art Sunday as I as usual will combine with The Nail Challenge Collaborative.

This week there is no theme on Nail Art Sunday, but because we are running the Harvest Times theme in NCC I have chosen to make a nail art along that.

The base is yesterday's Native War Paints Patty O'Green, which I then stamped with an apple pattern from Fab Ur Nails No. 3. After I filled in some of the small apples with OPI Big Apple Red.

Maybe not the most beautiful manicure I've done, but somehow I still like it.

Reader's Choice - Native War Paints Patty O'Green

Vilket underbart väder det är! Vi ska fira sonen som fyllde år för ett tag sedan, men har inte varit hemma sen dess, så här blir lite fikagäster.

Men självklart blir det även ett inlägg med läsarnas val. Den här är veckan kör vi riktigt färgglatt med Native War Paints Patty O'Green.

Neongrönt med ett ganska diskret, men ändå närvarande rött skimmer. Jag valde att inte måla med vitt först, vilket kanske var ett dumt val. Tre lager fick jag ta och de två första blev rätt strimmiga, men ändå tycker jag att det täcker riktigt bra i slutändan. Torktiden var bra och som vanligt har jag topplack på bilderna.

Man kan inte låta bli att gilla en sån här färg. Man blir helt enkelt glad av den. Skimret är diskret, men jag tycker att det gör något extra med lacket. Helt klart ett höjdarlack.

Färgglatt idag, men till nästa vecka har ni svarta lack att rösta på.

What a wonderful weather it is! Our son had his birthday in the end of August, but since he doesn't live here this is the first time we'll have the opportunity to celebrate him so we will have some guest over for an afternoon cup of coffe.

But of course it will also be a post with readers' choice. This week I have something really colorful from Native War Paints to show you. And the name of the polish is Patty O'Green.

Neon green with a fairly discreet, but still present red shimmer. I chose not to paint with white first, which was perhaps a foolish choice. I needed three layers and the first two were a bit streaky, but still I think it covers really well in the end. The drying time was good and as usual, I have a topcoat on in the pictures.

One can not help but to like this kind of color. It will simply makes you happy. The shimmer is subtle, but I think it does something extraordinary with the polish. For me this is a great polish.

Colourful today, but for the next week you have black polishes to vote for.
