Hoppas alla hade en lika trevlig Midsommarafton som jag hade!

Det här inlägget hade jag tänkt lägga ut igår, men det kom åska som förstörde mina planer. Här ute på landet innebär åska utdragande av alla sladdar för att rädda det som räddas kan. Alltså ingen bloggning.

Och om ni undrar var läsarnas val har tagit vägen så ska jag försöka få ut det senare idag. Om det inte åskar i alla fall!

Jag fick även en flaska av Cactus holotopplack skickat till mig. Något som jag verkligen sett fram emot då min lilla flaska från Queens & Shadows håller på att ta slut. Självklart ville jag testa det här så fort som möjligt och när jag väl testat hållbarheten på Astatine så var det Zirconiums tur.

Ni vet ju min lilla önskan om ett orange holo så självklart så tänkte jag testa det här över ett orange lack. Först så åkte ett Depend lack på och vid första lagret såg det magiskt ut, men jag ville ha mer så jag la på ett lager till vilket jag inte skulle gjort. Det blev helt enkelt för mycket. Den lite dimmiga gråaktiga tonen i hololacket tog över för mycket och det blev helt enkelt inte snyggt.

Alltså är lärdomen av det här att den som gapar efter mycket mister oftast hela stycket. Ett lager är tillräckligt och två lager blir inte bra.

Istället så tog jag av alltihopa och la på OPI A Roll In The Hauge som jag sen då pimpade upp med ett lager av Zirconium och vips så hade jag mitt oranga holo!

Lacket är lätt att applicera och torkar fort och bra. Holoeffekten är fin om än inte slående. Ändå så tycker jag att det här är bättre än det jag har haft innan. Det här blir det en tydlig och fin holoeffekt på ett lager när jag fått använde två lager av det andra.

Nu ska ni också ha i åtanke att jag har fått Beta versioner för att testa. Det kan mycket väl hända att vår Cactus ändrar lite innan hon släpper ut det här för försäljning. Jag tycker i alla fall att det är ett bra holo topplack och kan varmt rekommendera det.

My intentions was to post this yesterday, but a thunderstorms destroyed my plans. Were I live in the middle of the countryside thunder means that you will run around the house and make sure that all electrical equipment is disconnected  to save what can be saved. Thus no blogging.

And if you're wondering where the readers' choice has gone I will  try to get it out later today. Well if there is no new thunder that is.

I got a bottle of Cactus holotopcoat send to me to try out. Something that I really looked forward to since my little bottle from Queens & Shadows is about to run out. Obviously I wanted to try this as soon as possible and once I tested the durability of Astatine it was Zirconiums turn.

You know my little desire for an orange holo so of course I thought I would try this over a orange polish. First I applied a Depend polishs and then a layer of Zirconium and it looked amazing, but I wanted more so I added another layer and that was a mistake. There was simply too much. The little misty grayish tone of the holotopcoat took over too much and it didn't look good. 

Ok, so I learned my lesson. Be happy with what you've got and do reach out for more! One layer is enough and two layers are to much.

Instead, I took the whole thing of and put on OPI A Roll In The Hauge who I later then pimped up with a layer of Zirconium and just like that I had my orange holo!

The polish is easy to apply and dries fast and nice. You definitly need a normal top coat over it because it dries a bit dull. The Holo effect is fine if but not striking. Nevertheless, I think this is better than what I had before. This gives you a clearly visable effect with one layer and was not the case with my other one. There you needed two layers. 

Now you should also keep in mind that what I have is a beta versions for testing. It may well be that our Cactus change a bit before releasing it for sale. I think in all cases it is a good holo topcoat and can heartily recommend it.

Idag ska vi äta sill, grilla och dansa små grodorna! Det vill säga trevlig Midsommarafton på er allihopa!

Vi ska fira tillsammans med familj och goda vänner vilket alltid är trevligt.

Något annat som är trevligt och som jag blev väldigt glad för är att jag har fått förmånen att testa en av våra andra lackmakares Betaversioner av lack som i och för sig varit ute på marknaden innan, men nu har fått en touch up. Jag pratar givetvis om Cactus som då inte bara är ett lackmärke utan även är kvinnan bakom en suveränt bra blogg. Vill man hitta information om innehåll i lack eller om olika finishar så är det dit man ska surfa in. Lättläst och bra om saker som många av oss undrar över.

För mig så har Cactus blogg en särskild plats i mitt hjärta då hon var en av de första som uppmärksammade min blogg när den var ny och redan efter några veckor hade med mig i ett länkkärleks inlägg. Sånt värmer så mycket när man är ny och någon man ser upp till ger en uppmärksamhet.

Men, nu var det ju lacken vi skulle prata om! Det första lacket som jag provat heter Astatine och är en återutgåva av ett av lacken som var med i Cactus första kollektion Spectrum ß. 

Fast jag måste nog säga att det här är ett helt annat lack än det som var med i första kollektionen. När jag hade testat Astatine då så var jag supernöjd med färgen, men inte med hållbarheten. Det lacket tokchippade efter knappt ett dygn. Det gör absolut inte det här. När jag hade haft det på i två dygn så fanns det fortfarande inte en tendens till att chippa, något lite slitet på högerhanden som jag knapprar mest med på tangentbordet på jobbet, men inte mer än att jag lugnt skulle kunnat ha kvar lacket på säkerligen ett eller kanske två dygn till utan att det skulle se illa ut. Alltså ett mycket gott betyg.

Jag vill i och för sig påpeka att jag var extremt noggrann när jag skulle lacka med det här med att se till att det inte fanns något fett på naglarna. Jag varken oljade eller smörjde innan utan efter istället. Allt för att lacket skulle få så bra fäste som möjligt och det funkade ju uppenbarligen.

Formulan var mycket bra. Lättlackad och trevlig. Två lager räcker för täckning om man inte snålar för mycket på första lagret. Torktiden mycket bra. Lacket torkar väldigt matt, men återfår full glans med ett lager topplack och i mitt fall så blev det Fast Forward.

Nu till färgen. Första varianten var mycket mörkare nästan en riktigt svart holo, jag vågar inte riktigt svara på om det kommer bli så den här gången också eller om det kommer vara mer det mörkgråa lack som jag har testat. Jag har ju faktiskt en testflaska och inte den helt slutgiltiga produkten. Jag gillar det här väldigt mycket. Med topplack på så ser det trevligt ut även i skugga. Liknar faktiskt China Glaze Immortal lite grann.

Holoeffekten är jättefin. Upplever inte den som superstark, men snygg.

Allt som allt så tycker jag att vi allihopa ska se fram emot ett nytt kollektionssläpp från vår Cactus och om jag hinner så kommer det ett inlägg till idag med ett holotopplack som förmodligen kommer ingå i den.

Something else that is nice and that I'm very happy about is that I have been privileged to test one of our other Swedish Indimakers Beta versions of her polish that actually has been out in the market before, but now is getting a touch up. I'm talking of course about Cactus that not only is the name of the brand, but also is the woman behind a supremely good blog. If you want to find information about the content of polishes or information about various finishes that's where you should go. Easy to read and lots of information about things that we all wonders about from time to time.

For me, Cactus blog has a special place in my heart because she was one of the first who noticed my blog when it was new and after a few weeks actually on Valentines day had a link to me in a link love post. That means so much when you are a new blogger and of course later also but when someone that you look up to gives you that kind of attention it makes you so happy.

But, it was the polish I was supposed to talk about! The first polish that I tried is called Astatine and is a re-edition of one of the polishes that was in Cactus first collection Spectrum ß

I must say that this is a totally different polish than what was in the first collection. When I had tested Astatine then I was super happy with the color, but not with the sustainability. The polish chipped really bad after barely one day. The new editon does nothing like that. When I had it on for two days, there was still no tendency for chipping, a bit worn on the right hand that I use a lot writing on the keyboard at my work, but no more than that I would calmly consider wearing the polish another one or even two days without it looking bad. That is a very good rating.

I want to point out that I was extremely careful when I applied this. I made sure there was no grease on the nails. I either oiled or used cuticle balm but after instead. All this so the polish would get as good grip as possible and it worked obviously.

The formula was very good. Easy to apply. Two coats is enough for coverage if you don't skimp too much on the first layer. Drying time is very good. The polish dries very dull, but regains full gloss with a layer of top coat and in my case it's a layer of Fast Forward.

Now on to the color. The first version was much darker almost a true black holo, I dare not really answer whether it will be so this time, too, or if it will be more the dark gray coat that I have tested. I have actually a test bottle and not the completely finished product. I like this very much. With top coat on it looks nice even in the shade. A bit similar to China Glaze Immortal I think.

The holoeffect is also very nice. Maybe not ths strongest in the market but good.

All in all, I think we all should look forward to a new collection release from our Cactus and if I have time, there will a post later today with a holotopcoat that will probably be part of it.

Tema Svenskt! / A Swedish Theme - Brite Birds The Dynamo

Tänkte att jag inte bara skulle visa upp lackmärken som är enkla att få tag på den här veckan. Nä, vi har faktiskt två Indiemärken i det här landet också. Säkerligen finns det flera, men det är dom två jag känner till och ett av dom visar jag idag och det andra kommer också att visas. Om du känner till något mer svenskt märke vill jag gärna att du kommenterar och talar om vilket. Inhemska märken ska självklart prioriteras!

Det finns en fantastiskt duktig och kreativ tjej bland oss bloggare som heter Sanna och har bloggen Make Up My Lack. Tidigare har hon också sålt lack under sitt eget märke Brite Bird. Just nu ligger shoppen nere, men jag misstänker att det är många med mig som hoppas att den en dag ska öppna igen.

Jag har inte många lack som jag känner att det gör något om det skulle ta slut, men det här gör det. Lacket heter The Dynamos och märke är ju då som sagt Brite Bird. Anledningen är ju så klart att jag kan inte få tag på det här igen. Inte ens väldigt dyrt på ebay.

Lacket är ett blått crelly, tror jag, för det känns inte riktigt som en jelly med massa, massa blå och silvriga microglitter i det. Den här gången valde jag att lägga det över China Glaze Man Hunt just för att inte slösa för mycket och då har jag två lager för att få upp djupet ordentligt i lacket. Om man använder det för sig själv räcker det med tre lager för full täckning. Över alltihopa har jag Fast forward.

Det här är vackert. Som kärlek i en liten flaska. Det är också det närmaste jag kommer Essie Starry Starry Night det är i och för sig något mörkare i basen, men konceptet känns lika. Jag tror att det här är ett av de vackraste lacken i min samling faktiskt.

I would like to show you something completely different from the mainstream brands that you have seen so far this week. In Sweden we don't have a lot of Indiebrand makers but I do know of two brands and today I will show you one of them. The other will have a post of it's own. If you happens to know of any other Swedish Indiepolish please let me know.

There is a fantastic creative and talented girl among us bloggers called Sanna and her blog is called Make Up My Lack. She has also sold polishes from her own brand Brite Bird before, but right now the brand is on hiatus. I do suspect that there are many of us who hope that one day she will open her shop again

I don't have a lot of polishes that I feel that I would get sad if the bottle would get empty but this is one of them or maybe the only one I have.  The polish is called The Dynamos and the brand as I said Brite Bird. The reason I treasure this so much is because I can't get another bottle not even very expensive on ebay.

The polish is a blue crelly, I think, because it does not feel like a jelly with lots and lots of blue and silver micro glitter in it. This time I chose to put it over China Glaze Man Hunt just to save the precious drops. I have two layers over that. to make the depth of the polish pop up. If you use it on it's own you need three layers for coverage. And then I have a layer of Fast Forward on top. 

This is beautiful. Like love in a small bottle. It is also the closest to Essie Starry Starry Night I will ever get even though SSN is darker at the base, but the concept seems similar. I think this is one of the most beautiful polishes in my collection actually.

Tema Svenskt! / A Swedish Theme - Depend 307

Alltså det enda jag inte gillar med Depend är att dom inte har några namn på sina lack, även om dom faktiskt haft eller har det på vissa special kollektioner.

För övrigt så älskar jag deras pensel. En av dom bättre tycker jag. Återigen så tycker jag väldigt mycket om att man kan gå in i sin lokala mataffär och i väldigt många fall hitta ett ställ med Depend lack! Fatta hur många som spontanshoppar lack på det här sättet. Jo, det är endast 5ml i flaskorna och många tycker att det är ett dyrt pris för så lite lack, men jag håller inte riktigt med. Jag tycker fortfarande att det är prisvärt för en så pass hög kvalité som jag ändå tycker dom här lacken oftast håller.

Nog om detta, nu till dagens nummer eller lack menar jag! 307 åh vad jag tycker du är vacker. Som en lillasyster till ett av mina favoritlack, nämligen China Glaze Riveting. Det innehåller väl mer flakes medans 307 givetvis är ett skimmerlack, för det är lite av Depends signatur. Ett härligt fruktigt orange lack med guldskimmer. Ett vinnande koncept i mina ögon i alla fall.

Det tråkiga med lacket är att jag upplevde det som lite skirt. Fyra lager har jag på. I och för sig lättlackade och lätt torkade lager, men då är vi tillbaka till det där med flaskstorleken. Lite för mycket för ett lack som enbart innehåller 5ml. I vilket fall som helst så tycker jag det här är snyggt, mycket snyggt till och med!

So the only thing I don't like about the Swedish brand Depend is that they don't have any names for their polishes, even if they actually had or have it on some special collections.

First of all: I love their brush. One of the better I think. Again this is a brand that is so easy to get hold of at least here in Sweden. I think a lot of us can go into their local supermarket and in very many cases find a stand with Depend polishes! Just think of how many spontaneous boughts this leads to! Well, it's only 5ml in the bottles and many feel that it is an expensive price for as little paint, but I don't really agree with that. I still think that it is affordable for such a high quality that I thinkt that most of these polishes have.

Enough of that, now to today's number or polish I mean! 307 oh what I think you're beautiful. As a younger sister of one of my favorite nail polish, namely China Glaze Riveting. Riveting has more flakes while 307 of course is a shimmer polish, because it's a bit of Depends signature. A delightfully fruity orange polish with gold shimmer. A winning formula in my eyes anyway.

The sad thing about this polish is that I think it was a bit sheer. Four layers is what I have on. The polish is very easy to paint with. Great formula and the drying time is good to, but then we're back to the bottle size. A little too much for a polish containing only 5ml. In any case, I think this is neat, very neat and even!

Tema Svenskt! / A Swedish Theme - HM No Mambo Jambo

Dag två på mitt svenska tema kommer att tillägnas HM.

En sak som jag tycker är väldigt roligt med HM är att även om det är svenskt så finns märket inte bara här utan även runt om i Europa, Afrika, Mellanöstern, Asien och Amerika. På deras hemsida finns även en del lack att köpa för våra vänner runt om i världen.

Innan jag tänker skriva om själva lacket så måste jag dock säga att jag inte riktigt gillar att dom hela tiden byter storlekar och stilar på flaskorna och även om jag verkligen tycker att det här är mycket prisvärda och bra lack så är korken riktigt korkad!

Nu till själva lacket. Just det här hittade jag i en rea korg för 10:- och det kan jag säga att det lätt är värt. No Mambo Jambo är ett grönturkost skimmerlack. En riktigt trevlig färg även om jag kanske inte tycker att det är en 10-poängare. Formulan var mycket bra och tre lager täcker det på. Torktiden var däremot lite seg. Jag har ett lager av China Glaze Fast Forward över.

Precis som med KICKS lacken så tycker jag om tillgängligheten på dom här lacken och normal priset ligger på 39 kronor för 9ml. Helt ok för jag nog ändå säga. Även HM lacken är lite bortglömda ibland tycker jag. När jag pratar med folk som inte som jag själv är vana lackköpare så är det många som tror att det är skräplack bara för att dom är ganska billiga, men det vill jag absolut bestrida!

Day two of my Swedish theme will be dedicated to HM.

One thing that I think is great with HM is that although it's Swedish the brand is not only available here but also around Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and America. I went to their US website and you can buy their polishes from there as well. 

Before I intend to write about the polish, I have to say that I don't really like that they constantly change the styles and sizes of the bottles and even though I really think this is very affordable and good polishes the cork is really stupid! I don't think that the person who designed this uses a lot of polish themself.

Now on to the polish. This one I found in a  sale basket for 10SEK (about 1,54 USD) and I can say that it is easily worth it. No Mambo Jambo is a green turquoise shimmer polish. A really nice color even though I may not think it's a 10-pointers. The formula was very good and it covers in three layers. The drying time, however, was a little slow. I have a coat of China Glaze Fast Forward over.

As with KICKS polishes, I like the availability of the brand and the normal price is 39 SEK (about 6USD) for 9ml. Ok, I consider that just as KICKS this brand is a bit forgotten among us bloggers sometimes, at least that is what I think. When I talk to people who doesn't buy polishes as frequent as I do they often seem to think that HM polishes are no good because they are cheap. That is so sad and I try to talk them out of that impression every time.
