Zoya - Hope

Jag började fundera på om mitt nya baslack inte var bra eller om jag inte kan lacka längre, för det här är ännu ett lack som jag känner att formulan var jättekonstig på. 

Funderade så pass mycket att jag efter att ha applicerat första lagret av Zoya Hope plockade bort alltihopa och testade med mitt gamla baslack istället, men nej det hjälpte inte!

Första lagret var strimmigt och fullt och knepigt att applicera. Det hade nästan holosjuka, ni vet så där så att man får vara snabb som vinden med penseln om man inte ska få kala fläckar, vilket jag fick.

Andra lagret däremot blev bättre och tredje ännu bättre, men jag har faktiskt fyra lager på för att jag skulle tycka att det här skulle vara godkänt. Ett Zoya lack som inte är skirt, för det är det inte, som man behövde fyra lager för! Inte ok! 

Fast det är klart att om man tar riktigt tjockt på första lagret så klarar man sig troligen med tre i alla fall. Tur att jag gillar färgen på det här i alla fall för annars hade nog flaskan åkt ut genom fönstret.

Vad är det för färg då? Tja, en härlig skimmrande lila med röda undertoner. Inte heller det här lacket är speciellt unikt, men det är fint. En klassisk lila lackfärg kanske man kan säga. En sån där färg som alla nördar troligen har i sin samling för att det tillhör liksom. 

När jag bar det här lacket fick det återigen mig att tänka på det där första lila lacket som jag fick på Nagelsalongen i gallerian i Malmö för nu mer än två år sedan. Det här kändes väldigt likt det, men jag är rätt säker på att det inte var Zoya dom hade där utan möjligen OPI. Så är det någon som känner till ett OPI lack i den här nyansen. Lämna gärna er visdom i kommentarena.

Färgen är då som sagt väldigt vacker. Jag tycker om den, även om jag nu längre kanske inte älskar den lika mycket som den gången i Malmö.

Det är lite tippwear på bilderna, men jag hade inte tillgång till att fota i dagsljus förrän jag burit det ett tag.

I was starting to think that there were something wrong with my new basecoat or if I actually had totally lost my ability to paint, because this is yet another polish that I feel that the formula was really weird on.

I was thinking so much about it that I after applying the first layer of Zoya Hope took off the whole thing and tested with my old base coat instead, but no, it did not help! So, it's nothing wrong with my new Nubar Ridgefiller.

The first coat was streaky and ugly and tricky to apply. It had almost holosickness, you know, that kind of polish were you have to be quick and light as a feather when applying to avoid bald spots, which I got with this.

The second layer went a bit better and the third even better, but I actually have four layers on. And it's not a sheer polish, but that is what it took to make it look ok. A Zoya polish that is not sheer that you needed four layers off! Not ok!

Though I think that if you do take a very thick first layer it might be better to apply and then you could probably get away with three layers. Luckily I like the color of Hope because otherwise the bottle might had been thrown out of the window!

What color is it then? Well, a lovely sparkly purple with red undertones. It's not in anyway a unique color, but it is nice. A classic purple polish, you might say. One of those colors that all geeks probably have in their collection because it belongs there as well.

When I wore this polish I agian came to think of that first purple polish that I got at a Nail Salon in one of the malls in Malmö now more than two years ago. This felt very much like it, but I'm pretty sure that it was not Zoya they had there but possibly OPI. So does anyone know of an OPI lacquer in this hue. Please leave your wisdom in a comment.

The color is as I said very beautiful. I like it, although I now longer love it the same way as I did that time i Malmö when I got my first manicure at a salon.

It's a little tip wear in the pictures, but I did not have the posibility to shoot in daylight until I had been wearing it for a while.

NCLA - Rodeo Drive Royalty

Idag ska jag visa er ett lack från ett märke som jag aldrig testat förut. Märket heter NCLA och jag har köpt det via Nailmail där det varit månadens märke. Om jag har förstått det hela rätt så är det här ett märke från Kalifornien, USA där ägaren är svensk eller åtminstone har svenska rötter.

Och jag måste säga att jag är imponerad. Det här är ett "vanligt" krämlack, men oj vad bra det var att måla med! Det flöt på smidigt som bara den och torkade fort som bara den också. Jag har två lager på och det ska man nog inte behöva mer än heller.

Färgen är en mörk röd nästan lite vampig sak. Helt underbar. Jag gillar ju i och för sig rött lack, men det jag gillar med det här är att det inte är så skrikigt utan lite mer dämpat. Jag trivs så himla bra i det här. Visst det är inget unikt, kan tänka mig att dom flesta lite större märkena har något liknande, men jag tror inte att jag sen tidigare har det i min samling.

Jag har ett till NCLA att testa och jag kan mycket väl tänka mig att fylla på min samling med fler från märket.

Färgen är mest verklighetstrogen på flaskbilden tycker nog jag. Alltså lite mörkare än på dom andra bilderna.

Today I'll show you a polish from a brand that I never tried before. The brand name is NCLA and I bought it through Nailmail where it last month's brand. If I have understood correctly, this is a brand from California, where the owner is Swedish or at least have Swedish roots.

And I must say I'm impressed. This is a "regular" cream lacquer, but oh how good it was to paint with! Everything went very smoothly and it dried really fast as well. I have two coats on and that is what is necessary.

The color is a dark red almost a little vampy thing. Absolutely lovely. I like red polishes a lot, but what I like about this is that it's not so in your face red, but a little more subdued. I love having this color on my nails. Ok it's not unique, can imagine that most of the bigger brands have something similar, but I don't think I have anything like it in my collection.

I have another NCLA polish to try I can very well imagine to extend my collection with more from this brand.

The color is most accurate in the first picture with the bottle. A bit darker as you can see than on the other pictures.

Nailart Sunday - Paisley

Regnet det bara öser ner... Och igår när jag storstädade huset då illsken solen. Inte helt ok eller?

Dagen idag ska tillbringas med att införskaffa dukar, växter och byta lite kläder som jag inte ska ha.

Till dagens manikyr så har jag använt mig av en stamping platta från Bundle Monster med nr 315. Det är så länge sedan jag gjorde en riktig manikyr med stamping så nu var jag riktigt sugen och vad kunde passa bättre till underlag än Isadora Atlantis. Det lacket riktigt skrek åt mig att det ville ha lite mönster på sig.

Jag valde ett paisleymönster och vit specialfärg från Konad. Själv tyckte jag det här blev riktigt somrigt och fint och hade på mig det flera dagar i sträck.

The rain is just pouring down ... And yesterday when I was cleaning the house the sun was shining! Not quite ok right?

The day today will be spent to purchase fabrics, plants and swap some clothes that I changed my mind about.

For today's manicure, I used a stamping plate from Bundle Monster no.315. It's so long since I did a proper manicure with stamping so now I was really eager to do one and what could be a better base than Isadora Atlantis. The polish really yelled at me that it wanted to have some designs on it.

I chose a paisley pattern and white special color from Konad. Personally I think this turned out really well. And it added to the summer feeling of the polish. I actually wore this several days in a row.

Ert Val / Readers Choice! - OPI Save Me

En härlig varm dag som jag kommer att tillbringa med att städa har jag framför mig!

Men innan jag sätter fart fixar jag till dagens inlägg och en av dagarna på veckan som jag gillar bäst för att det är ni mina läsare som fått välja lacket som jag visar. Jag tänker nu avslöja att jag är en stor statistiknerd. Jag älskar att följa omröstningen som jag har varje vecka. Min familj blir lite galen på mig när jag hela tiden går in och kollar resultaten och kommenterar för dom.

Kommer ni ihåg att jag förra veckan skrev att omröstningen innehöll ett lack som min yngste avkomma valt ut som han ville skulle vinna och två andra lack. Jag kan nu hälsa och tacka från sonen att han är nöjd med er insats för det var ju OPI Save Me som han ville skulle vinna. Den innehåller nämligen strängglitter eller som han säger Partajpapper. Något som jag har extremt svårt för och jag misstänker är därför som han gillar det.

Men, nu kommer det otroliga. Den här gången tycker jag faktiskt att det blev riktigt ok, kanske till och med riktigt bra!

Jag tog fram Zoya Raven och grundade med och gjorde sen en omvänd gradient med Save Me och jag har trivs kanonbra i det här måste jag säga. Det sitter faktiskt på mina naglar just nu.

Lacket var smidigt att applicera måste jag säga. Jag använde inte svamp för att göra gradienten utan tog bara med penseln direkt.

Den här veckan lät jag min svärdotter välja lack till omröstningen och hon valde ut tre som hon tycker representerar rymden. Den ena för att det ser ut som stjärnor på himlen, ett för att det ser ut som en glödande sol och det tredje, tja där säger ju namet anledningen. Rösta nu så jag får ägna mig åt min favoritsysselsättning och kolla statistik.

But before I do so I sit here and write today's post and this is one of the days of the week that I like best because it's you my readers who have choosed the polish that I show. I will now reveal that I am a big nerd when it comes to statistics. I love following the poll that I have every week. My family gets a little annoyed with me when I constantly go in and watch the results and comment on them.

Do you remember that I last week wrote that the vote contained one polish that my youngest offspring picked out and that he wanted that to win and then to other polishes that he didn't like. I can now reveal that you made an exelent choice and choosed the one he wanted to win. OPI Save Me is the polish of your and his choice. It contains namely string glitter and microglitter. Something that I don't like at all and of course I guess that is why he likes it.

But, now comes the unbelievable. This time, I think actually it was really ok, maybe even really good!

I used Zoya Raven as a base color and then made a reverse gradient of Save Me and I liked wearing this really much. It actually sits on my nails right now.

The polish was easy to apply, I must say. I didn't use a sponge to make the gradient, instead I  only took the brush and painted on it.

This week, I let my daughter in law choose the polishes that you can vote on and she picked out three that she thinks represents space. One because it looks like the stars in the sky, one because it looks like a glowing sun, and the third, well the name says the reason for it to be in this vote.
