Ert val / Readers Choice - Orly Rococo A Go Go

Hur visste ni att det här var det andra lacket ur min första Transdesign beställning som jag blev sugen på att visa er igen? Tack snälla för att ni röstade fram det här som veckans läsarnas val!

Det här är ytterligare ett lack som jag såg hos Nailtastic som jag med en gång visste att jag ville ha så när jag väl vågade mig på min första beställning från USA hade det här en självklar plats.

För en gång skull så är det även lacket som jag har på mig just nu som jag visar er här på bloggen. Alldeles nymålat och fräsch faktiskt.

Namnet Rococo A Go Go är ju smidigt och bra och får mig att tänka på en mycket konstig serie som artisten Wednesday 13 gav ut som ett barnprogram i USA det hette Weirdo A Go Go. Har ni inte sett den, så behöver ni absolut inte vara ledsna, mycket skum sak det där..

I alla fall så är det här ett mycket trevligt lack att måla med. Flyter ut lätt på naglarna och torkar fort och bra också. Två lager är det enda som behövs för täckning. Färgen är en helt underbar vinröd/lila fylld med massa guldflakes som ger lacket ett otroligt liv. Lätt ett av mina favoritlack i min samling och ett som jag starkt kan rekommendera om man inte testat något Orly ännu, men funderar på det.

Ni vet ju hur det här går till nu, under bilderna finns veckans omröstning med lack som min yngste son fick välja ut direkt ur otestat lådan.

This is another polish that I saw at Nailtastic I immediately knew that I wanted, so once I dared to order my first package from the U.S. this had a given place in it.

For once, it's also a polish that I'm wearing right now that I show you here on the blog. Just painted on the nails!

The name Rococo A Go Go makes me think of a very strange series that artist Wednesday 13 published as a children's program in the U.S. it was called Weirdo A Go Go. If you havn't seen it, you actually don't need to either. It's really strange...

In any case, this is a very beautiful polish to paint with. Flows easily on to the nails and dries fast too. Two coats is all that is needed for coverage. The color is a lovely dark red / purple filled with lots of goldflakes that gives the polish an incredible depth. Easily one of my favorite polishes in my collection and one that I highly recommend if you have not tried any Orly yet, but are considering it.

You know how this goes for now, under the pictures there is a new poll. This week the polishes have been choosen by my youngest son straight from my untried box.

Holofredag - Mentality Siren

Skimmerskuggans holofredag och teamträffsfredag! Ingen dålig kombination minsann.

Lacket som jag visar här idag hade jag knappt sett några swatcher på när jag bestämde mig för att det här vill jag ha. En helt klart annorlunda färg på ett hololack kände jag. Vad är det för färg då? Ja, förklara det ni. Basfärgen är vinröd aktig eller aubergin aktig kanske. Sen känns det som att det är duokromt också för jag tycker det ser grått eller lite brunt eller kanske är det lila ut i vissa ljus. 

Till saken hör att jag struntar i färgbenämningen på det här, ni får gärna kommentera och säga vad ni tycker att det är för färg. För mig räcker det med att jag gillar det! Mycket faktiskt. Det är inte den värsta holoeffekten, men den är ju där i alla fall.

På bilderna har jag två lager och ett lager av China Glaze Fast Forward över. 

Kollektionen heter The Dark Side Holos och det här lacket har då namnet Siren. Jag äger en till av dom här och så ett holo från en annan kollektion som heter The Precious Holo collection, men dom får ni se en annan gång. 

Till på köpet så gillade jag formulan riktigt mycket. Påminner lite om A-England dvs lite tjockare och det gillar jag. Penslen var också trevlig. Faktum är att torktiden också var trevlig, något jag har känt varit lite sämre på vissa Indie holos jag testat.

It's Skimmerskuggans holofriday ​​and we have a team party at work tonight! Not a bad combination.

The polish that I show here today is a one that I bought without hardly seeing any swatches of. I just new that I needed this polish anyway. A clearly different color on a holopolish in my opinion. What color is it then? Please explain it to me if you can. The base color is brownish burgundy or aubergine-like perhaps. Then it feels like it's duochrome also because I think it looks a little gray or brown or maybe it's purple in certain light.

The thing is that I don't care about trying to name the color on this, feel free to comment and say what you think it is. For me it is enough that I like it! Much indeed. It's not the strongest holo that I own, but it's there anyway.

In the pictures I have two coats of Siren and a layer of China Glaze Fast Forward over.

The collection is called The Darkside Holos and this polish's  named Siren. I own another one from that collection and also one from the Precious Holo collection, but I will save them for another friday.

As you understand I like the color a lot and I also like the formula a lot. Reminds me of A-England with that  little thicker formula and I like that. The brush was also nice. In fact, the drying time was also nice, something I've been a bit disapointet with in other Indie holos I tested.

Could not help but take a bottle picture also this polish.

Go Dotts!

För ett tag sedan så visade jag er Essie Go Overboard och det här lacket bara ropade åt mig att det ville ha lite extra utsmyckning ;)

Och vad skulle då passa bättre än lite fina prickar? Jag har använt mig av Orly Au Champagne för att göra prickarna. Jag gillar resultatet som liksom växlar mellan vitt och silver nästan. Jag bestämde mig för att inte göra prickarna bara slumpvis utan istället bygga en pyramid av dom.

Allt gick faktiskt suveränt bra och jag var supernöjd med resultatet ända tills jag la på ett avslutande lager med The Shield över. Bubbel, bubbel, bubbel sa det helt plötsligt och massa små bubblor hade dykt upp i lacket. Precis som när jag målade med A-England Avalon. Alltså kan jag konstatera att det är The Shields som absolut behöver tunnas.

Nu tänker jag strunta i detta och visa er manikyren ändå, för jag gillar färgerna ihop och hur mönstret blev.

A while ago I showed you Essie Go Overboard and that polish just called out to me that it wanted to have a little extra embellishment;)

And what would be better than some nice spots? I've used Orly Au Champagne to make the dots. I like the result. And I also like that it looks like the dots are switching between white and silver almost. I decided not to do the dots just randomly but instead build a pyramid of them.

Everything actually went extremely well and I was super happy with the results until I put on a final layer with The Shield over. Bubble, bubble, bubble it suddenly said and a mass of small bubbles had appeared in  the polish. Just as it did when I used The Shield over A-England Avalon. So, I definitly need to put som thinner in that topcoat.

Now I intend to ignore this and show you the manicure anyway, because I like the colors together and how the pattern turned out.

Nubar Tiger's Eye

När jag skulle måla på Nubar Tiger's Eye så var min första tanke efter första lagret att oj då, det här var ju inge vidare. Sen hände det där som rätt ofta händer mig faktiskt.

För varje nagel och för varje lager jag la på desto mer började jag gilla det och när jag sedan var färdig efter tre lager och China Glaze Fast Forward så var jag helt övertygad om att det här det var fint det!

Ser det ut som tiger ögon då? Njae, det tror jag inte jag tycker. Dom är väl mycket gulare va? I alla fall så är det här ett brunrött skimmer lack. Skimmret i lacket ger det ett fantastiskt djup och lyster. Att sedan Nubar har fixat en mycket bra formula på lacket gör ju inte saken sämre. För att sen toppa det här så kan jag ju säga att torktiden var kanonbra också. Nubar har ju dessutom en riktigt trevlig kork på sina flaskor som känns smidig att hålla i när man ska lacka.

Jag har tre lager och topplack på bilderna, men två lager är absolut inte omöjligt att komma undan med om man inte snålar som jag gjorde på första lagret. Nubar är absolut ett märke som jag kan tänka mig att skaffa fler av.

When I started to paint with Nubar Tiger's Eye, my first thought after the first layer was that gee, this wasn't a nice color. Then suddenly I realised that something had happened and it does quite often to me. I had totaly changed my mind.

For every nail and every layer I put on, the more I began to like it and when I was finished after three layers and China Glaze Fast Forward, I was completely convinced that this is beautiful!

Does it look like tiger eyes then? Njae, I don't think so. Aren't they kind of yellow? In any case, this is a brown-red shimmer polish. The shimmer in the polish gives it extra depth and luster. The fact that Nubar has a very goood formula in this polish doesn't make things worse. To make things even better I can asure you that the drying time was very good also. Nubar also have a really nice cork on their bottles that feels easy to hold when to paint.

I have three layers and top coat in the pictures, but two layers is certainly not impossible to get away with if you do not skimp like I did on the first layer. Nubar is definitely a brand that I can think of getting more of.

Zoya Purity

Zoya Purity är inte ett lack som jag köpt för att använda på egen hand utan under andra lite skirare lack eller som bas till diverse nailart.

Men, när jag för ett tag sedan lackat med detta passade jag på att ta lite bilder innan jag fortsatte med nästa lack över.

Jag har andra vita lack i min samling, men ville gärna ha det här också efter rekommendation från Cactus och för att det är just ett Zoya lack.

Är det här ett bättre lack än de andra vita jag har då? Ja och nej. Definitivt bättre än China Glaze White on White och troligen något bättre än Milani White on the spot också. Men, jag skulle vilja påstå att mitt Barielle Enduring och Zoya Purity håller ungefär samma standard. Bägge går att komma undan med två lager, bägge kräver egentligen topplack för att inte vara ojämna. Skulle väl vara att Purity torkar något fortare och att jag älskar Zoyas pensel.

Nu är ju varken Zoya eller Barielle så där värst lätta att få tag på i Sverige. Barielle vet jag inte ens om det går att få tag på i huvudtaget och Zoya, ja inte är dom billiga i affärerna här i alla fall. Det finns ett lågpris märke som jag har för mig heter Star Nails som sålts på diverse ställen t.ex Maxi, för enbart 10 kronor flaskan. Enligt för mig väldigt trovärdiga källor (mina lack vänner i lacka-Byt gruppen på FB) ska det märket vara riktigt bra och priset, ja det är ju helt klart överkomligt. Så min slutsats är att leta inte efter dyra vita lack att ha som bas utan springer ni på Star Nails så köp det. Vill ni hellre ha ett mer etablerat märke och väljer mellan dyrt eller dyrare så säger jag att Barielle är ett utmärkt val.

I alla fall så har jag två lager på bilderna och som ni säkert ser är lacket lite ojämnt. Jag har alltså inte topplack på. Med någon typ av topplack hade bilderna sett helt annorlunda ut.

Zoya Purity is not a polish that I bought to use on it's own but to have underneath other polishes that are a bit sheer or as a base for various nail art.

But, a while ago when I had applied this I took the opportunity to take some pictures before I continued with the next polish on top.

I have other white polishes in my collection, but wanted to have this also recommendation from Cactus and because it's a Zoya polish.

Is this a better polish than the other whites I have then? Yes and no. Definitely better than China Glaze White on White and probably slightly better than Milani White on the spot too. But, I would say that my Barielle Enduring and Zoya Purity is about the same standard. Both you can get away with two coats of and they both require topcoat to not look uneven on the nail. Could well be that Purity dries more quickly and that I love Zoya brush that makes it my favorite.

Now of course neither Zoya or Barielle is the easiest brand to get hold of in Sweden. I don't even know if it's possible to find Barielle here and Zoya, yes they are not cheap in the shops here in any case about 23 USD for a bottle. There is a lowprice brand that I think is called Star Nails that are sold at various places such as Maxi, for only 10 SEK (1.58USD) a bottle. According to my very reliable sources (my friends in the Lacka - Byt group on FB), that is the brand to buy if you want to get very much for a very low cost.  They are said to be really good and the price, yes it's definitely affordable. So my conclusion is to not look for expensive white paint to have as a base, a low price one could be just as good. Would you rather have a more established brand and choose between expensive or more expensive so I say that Barielle is an excellent choice.

In any case, I have two coats on the pictures, and as you will see it's a little uneven.  I have no topcoat on. With any type of topcoat the pictures would have been completely different.
