Nailart Sunday: Stripes!

Igår visade jag China Glaze Ahoy!

Jag var ju inte helt nöjd med min egen reaktion över lacket, så något måste göras!

Helt sonika tog jag fram lite nailartfärger och la till lila och pärlemorvita streck. Skepp o'hoy vad trevligt jag helt plötsligt tyckte det här blev.

I was not completely happy with my own reaction of the lacquer, so something must be done!

Quite simply , I took out a little nailartcolorsr and added purple and pearly white lines. Ship o'hoy and suddenly I  thought this was really nice :)

Ahoy! på er allihopa..

China Glaze Ahoy! var det mina vänner Annelene och Mathilda som valde ut åt mig vid en Beautyjoint beställning. Bra med kompisar som får en att köpa lite annat än dom färger och märken man alltid tittar på annars :)

Lacket är mörkt rosa med glasflakes som jag inte riktigt kan avgöra om dom är guldiga eller en annan rosa färg. Lite rinnigt i formulan tyckte nog jag, men bra täckning. Två lager tyckte jag räckte. Torktiden är bra, men trotts att jag tycker det här är så härligt i färgen så var min första tanke: Nej, det här kan jag inte ha!

Jag kände mig helt enkelt inte riktigt hemma med färgen. Vilket är väldigt synd. Fast vem vet när det suttit på lite så kan man ju ofta ändra uppfattning om hur man tycker att det känns på. Det jag tycker är konstigt är att jag trivs bra i Kicks Pink Flamingo och CG:S Purple Panic. Pink Flamingo är ju också ett ganska skarpt mörkt rosa och Purple Panic ett riktigt Neonrosa, vad är det då som gör att det här inte säger klick?

Jag valde att lägga ett lager Seche över för att få upp glansen lite.

Har ni varit med om det här också. Att man lackar med en färg som man tidigare gillat och trivts i och helt plötsligt inte känner sig hemma i?

China Glaze Ahoy! was a polish that my friends Annelene and Mathilda, chose for me at a Beautyjoint order. It's always good when somebody else make you open your eyes and make you look at other colors and brands than you usually do.

The polish is dark pink with glasflakes that I can not really determine whether they are golden or another pink. A bit runny formula,  but the coverage is good. Two layers of it was enough. The drying time is good, Despite of all this my first thought when seeing it on my nails was: No, this is so not me!

I was just not quite at home with the color. Which is a pity. But who knows when it has been on the nail for a while maybe I will change my mind. That has happende before. What I find strange is that I really enjoy Kicks Pink Flamingo and CG'S Purple Panic. Pink Flamingo's also a fairly sharp dark pink and Purple Panic properly Neon Pink, what is it that makes this not work out for me?

I chose to add a layer of Seche over to bring up the gloss a bit.

Have you ever experinced the same thing. You apply a polish in a color similar to others that you have enjoyed before and suddenly it's not working?

Holofredag Depend 2036 Ocean Green

Min gissning är att jag inte kommer vara speciellt ensam om att visa Depend lack den här holofredagen!

Men jag tycker det är superkul att ett svenskt märke som är lättillgängligt lanserar en sådan här kollektion. Mer holo åt folket blir ju lite mer verklighet.

Låt mig då komma till saken, nämligen Depends lack nr. 2036 även kallat Ocean Green. Eftersom jag läst på olika bloggar som redan visat en del av dom här att dom är ganska skira så valde jag att lägga Essie Da Bush som en bas. Över detta har jag sedan lagt två tjocka lager av 2036. Problemet var att även om jag låtit Da Bush torka riktigt ordentligt så ville Ocean Green ändå dra med sig underlacket när man skulle försöka att fixa till på sina ställen. Jag brukar vara en ritkig fan av Depends lack och så även av det här, men formulan var sisådär tycker jag nog. Torktiden däremot hade jag inget problem med.

I vilket fall som helst så är allting förlåtet. Färgen är jättefin och känns inte helt vanlig heller för den delen. Den får mig absolut att tänka på havet. Helt enkelt är Ocean Green ett utmärkt namn på detta lacket. Grön/blå med ganska ok holoeffekt och om jag lärt mig rätt så är det vad dom som är mycket mer insatta än mig kallar för scattered holo.

My guess is that I will not be the only Swedish blog that will show a  Depend holo this Holofriday as we call it here!
 
But I think it is fun that a Swedish brand that is easily accessible launch such a collection. More holo to the people becomes a little more reality.

Let me get to the point, namely Depends paint no. 2036 also called Ocean Green. As I read on various blogs that have already shown some of these holos they are quite delicate so I decided to add Essie Da Bush as a base. Over this I then placed two thick layers of 2036. The problem was that although I had Da Bush to dry out thoroughly the Ocean Green was not forgiving to the base if I tried to correct small painting mistakes. It wanted to take Da Bush with it. I'm usually a real fan of  Depends varnish and so also of this, but the formula was so-so, I think. The drying time though was no problem with.

In any case, everything is forgiven. The color is really nice and does not feel completely ordinary, for that matter. It makes me absolutely think of the ocean. So Ocean Green is an excellent name for this polish. Green / blue with pretty ok holoeffekt and if I learned right then it is what those who are much more knowledgeable in the holosection calls a scattered holo.

Kleancolor Metallic Red

Jag är tyvärr inte ägare av A-Englands Perceval vilket jag tycker är ett av dom vackraste röda lacken som finns. Men jag har Kleancolors Metallic Red som är en värdig konkurent till Perceval.

Det är helt otroligt vackert och skulle kunna täcka på bara ett lager, men det blir mer djup i färgen om man använder två. Bra formula lätt att applicera, men penslen är lite så där. På den här stack det ut lite strån, vilket är oerhört irriterande.

Djupt rött med svarta undertoner och som sagt ett metallic lack. Dock tycker jag att man kommer undan utan penseldrag i färgen fastän det är metall. Det är ju super, nackdelen är ju då torktiden som är seeeeg. Sen gjorde jag misstaget att lägga på Seche Vite för att snabba på det hela. Det funkar inte, dom där två är inte kompisar! Jag har testat med Poshé och det funkar bättre, men torktiden är fortfarande tråkig.

Nu är ju färgen så nedrans vacker så jag förlåter det dom här egenskaperna och njuter istället av skönheten.

Vad har ni för topplack när ni använder Kleancolor och vilket är ert favoritröda lack?

Unfortunately, I'm not the owner of A-England Perceval which I think is one of the most beautiful red lacquer available. But I have Kleancolors Metallic Red, which is a worthy competitor to Perceval.

It's incredibly beautiful and could cover in one coat, but there will be more depth to the color if you use two. Good formula easy to apply, but the brush in this bottle wasn't that good. There were straws sticking out of it, which is incredibly annoying.

Deep red with black undertones and a metallic paint. However, I think you can get away without brushstrokes in the paint even though it's metal. The disadvantage is of course the drying time. It's very looong. Then I made the mistake of applying Seche Vite to speed things up. Those two does not work together! I have tested with Poshé and it works better, but the drying time is still boring.

Now of course the color so beautiful that I forgive for the flaws and enjoys the beauty of the color!

Jag vill börja med att önska alla en riktigt trevlig Nationaldag!

Vi hade en diskussion för ett tag sedan där vi kom fram till att vi svenskar är lite dåliga på att fira vår Nationaldag. I alla fall om man jämför med vissa av våra grannländer. Vi i vår familj funderade på om vi inte skulle fixa en parad där vi bor, men kom underfund med att det nog inte skulle bli någon större succé i en by på 300 pers. Men tanken var ju fin :)

Istället väljer jag att fira vår dag här på bloggen. Det vill säga jag har fixat Sverige naglar.

Till detta har jag använt mig av: LA Girls Disco Brites Deejay och HM:s Lemon Tree.

Kanske inte det vackraste jag visat här på bloggen, men ändå så känner jag att det känns fint att jag har bidragit med något till vår nationaldag eller Svenska Flaggans Dag som det faktiskt hette för många år sedan.


Today we celebrate our National Day in Sweden so I would like to wish everybody a nice and happy day!

We had a discussion a while ago where we decided that we Swedes are a bit poor at celebrating our National Day. At least if you compare with some of our neighbor countries (read Norway). We in our family wondered if we should fix a parade where we live, but came to realize that it probably would not be an overwhelming success in a village of 300 people. But the thought was nice :)

Instead, I choose to do something special for Sweden here on my blog instead. I've fixed Sweden nails.

For this I used LA Girl Disco Brites Deejay and HM's Lemon Tree.

Maybe not the most beautiful nails I ever done, but I feel satisfied about celebrating our country this way.
